Victory! All The Time!

We live in a world where people who claim to be Christians live sinful, defeated lives. Their song is “We fall down and We get up.”
The true Christian song is “Victory in Jesus.”
The Christian life is a victorious life. We have victory over Satan, sin and self.
We have victory in our battles and tests. We have victory in the good times and in the bad times.
We have victory in times of peace and in times of persecution.
We have victory in times of health and in times of affliction.
We have victory because our Lord Jesus Christ has victory.

1 John 4:15, Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Revelation 3:20-21
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Hebrews 10:22-26
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

We must guard our hearts from evil. We must not allow anything which will hinder our faith. We must have a pure conscience. We must not yield to the temptations of the flesh.

23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

We must be steadfast in our faith, no doubting, no unbelief. We must not be changing all the time. Some days we are strong and some days we are weak. That will hurt our testimony and hinder our faith. God is faithful. We must be faithful.

24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

This is our duty to each other. By doing good works of love we will inspire others to do good works of love. If we are happy, it will encourage others. If we have the victory in our life, it will cause others to believe in the power of salvation to fix what is wrong in their life.

25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

God has never approved of us being independent of each other. We need each other.

Psalms 68:6 God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Romans 4:17-22
17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb:
20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

What was imputed to Abraham for righteousness? His faith! He was fully persuaded that what God had promised, He was able and faithful to perform.

Joshua 1:6-9
6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

If we keep the commandments of God, we will have the rewards which God promised.

Psalms 18:28-36
28 For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
29 For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.
30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
31 For who is God save the Lord? or who is a rock save our God?
32 It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.
33 He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
34 He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
35 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.
36 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

Who is our God? He is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is able to keep you through every battle. With Him you can run through the troop of evil spirits and all the adversaries which Satan sends against you.

With our God, we are more than conquerors. We are joyful, happy, charitable, peacemakers. That is more than just being a conqueror.

1 Timothy 4:15-16
15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Being victorious means that we not only save others, but we save ourselves, by faith and obedience to Jesus Christ.

All of God’s promises, blessings and benefits are accessed by faith. Faith is produced by obedience in all understanding and knowledge. All obedience must be without grudging. Obedience must be voluntary, willing, cheerful and motivated by your love toward God. This is our victory. Forced obedience is not acceptable with God. Victory is given to them who lovingly obey the commandments of Christ with a desire to please Him more than the desire to please the flesh.

What have we taught today? These are the keys to staying saved:
Walk in faith and obedience to the light God gives to you.

Question: How do I do that?
Answer: Do these things and you will have victory.
Have charity in everything: (in attitudes, decisions, actions, thoughts)
Daily devotions
Daily prayer
Fellowship with saints
Daily consecration
Bearing fruit of holiness
Witnessing to others

Wicked people care less about whether or not they offend you. Liberal Democrats care less about what you think is right. They have an agenda and they will fight for it one little battle at a time or they will take over if you let them. Conservatives and Christians are asleep and so lukewarm in the affairs of life that they do not want to get involved in politics or fight for what is right. They are content to remain in their little isolated corners and let the world and America be turned into hell.

The sleepy, lukewarm conditions which exists in the political world among conservatives is the same conditon which has been born and raised in the pews of America's churches.

Elections of governmental officers is an important matter which has long been neglected by Christians. It may be too late to sound the waarning; but here it is anyway. I will vote for the most fiscal and moral conservative person running for office. What will you do?

If you live in Tennessee, you should vote for Ron Ramsey for Governor. We must elect Governors who are willing to stand up against the current, corrupt leaders in Washington. The early voting is going on now. The primary election will be held on August 5th. Go vote and take somone with you. Let's do our part to help our nation.

Did God Choose A Name For His Church?

Why do we call ourselves the Church of God? Is the name of the church important?
Do we have a Bible foundation for choosing a certain name? If the name is important to God and you know that it is; therefore, is it wrong to be called by some other name?

Have you ever heard of the Storts Family? A long time ago there was a man who took the name Storts and all of his sons and grandsons have taken his name. I would be dishonoring my father if I chose some other surname than Storts. Who has the highest priority and right of inheritance: my son who bears my name; or, my sister who has married and taken the family name Sorrell?

Name: The Church of God
Genesis 32:28 new name – Israel = he will rule as God
Deuteronomy 26:2 go unto the place which the Lord thy God shall choose to place his name there.
Isaiah 44:5 surname himself
Isaiah 62:2 thou shalt be called by a new name…which the mouth of the Lord shall

[Question: Where do we look to find this new name which the mouth of the Lord shall name? Answer: In the New Testament writings which identify the “church of God” as the name which is given to the congregations of Christians.]

Isaiah 65:15 and call his servants by another name: (verses 8-25 prophetic of the COG)
Ezekiel 48:35 the name of the city from that day shall be, The LORD is there.

[Note: The name of the church should always identify God and point us to God, rather than to man or some characteristic of man.]

Acts 20:28 “to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.”
Romans 2:28,29 he is a Jew which is one inwardly
Romans 9:1-8 they are not all Israel
1 Corinthians 1:2 “Unto the church of God which is at Corinth,”
1 Corinthians 10:32 “Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:”
1 Corinthians 11:22 “or despise ye the church of God”
1 Corinthians 15:9 “because I persecuted the church of God.”
2 Corinthians 1:1 “unto the church of God which is at Corinth”
Galatians 1:13 “I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:”
1 Timothy 3:5 “how shall he take care of the church of God?”
Church of God, its origin and founder
Deuteronomy 12:5 But unto the place which the Lord your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there,

[Note: Here we have the church in the wilderness as mentioned in Acts 7:38 “This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina.” Additionally, we ought to observe the warning in Deuteronomy 12:13,14]

Isaiah 62:1-5 called by a new name
Matthew 16:18 I will build my church
John 17:11 keep through thine own name
John 17:6,12,26 the Father’s name
Acts 11:25 first called Christians [Note: this name was given by men, not God.]
Acts 20:28 purchased with his own blood
Ephesians 3:14,15 whole family is named
1 Thessalonians 2:14 churches of God [plural implies multiple congregations]
2 Thessalonians 1:4 churches of God [plural implies multiple congregations]
Hebrews 12:22-24 Mt. Zion, City of God, is the church of God

Judging Myself

The proper understanding of the following passage of scripture is vital to justice and righteousness.

1 Corinthians 4:1-5
4 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.
4 For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

The Apostle Paul said, "I judge not mine own self." Why, Paul do you not judge yourself? Because if I judge myself, I will either justify myself or condemn myself; and, neither of those judgments would be acceptable with my Redeemer. I do not judge myself, because of mine own self I can not discern the condition of any soul, not even my own. To judge is the executive privilege of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.

It is only by the Holy Spirit that we can know the hearts of any person including our own. It is very possible to deceive ourselves by listening to our own thoughts and opinions. When people make decisions and judgments without the Holy Spirit they will always error and do hurt to themselves and others.

The accuser of the brethren will cause you to justify or condemn yourself and others. Satan is a destroyer of fellowship and brotherly love. The Holy Spirit will teach you to wait on Him. He will bring all things into the light of truth in His time.

I can heartily agree with the Apostle Paul and say, "For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord." Without the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, I know nothing. But that lack of knowledge does not justify me. I am judged by the Lord who knows the thoughts and intents of my heart. He knows why I did the things which I have done.

If we can not judge our own selves without the help of the Holy Spirit, surely we can admit that we can not judge others. God has called me to uphold the judgments of God's holy standards set forth in the Word of God. He has not called me to sit in the Judgment Seat of Him who judges all men in righteousness and mercy.

Do you know the Bible definition of “nakedness?”
What part of the body is allowed to be uncovered and what part should be covered.
We will study important words such as: cover and uncover; naked and bare; leg and thigh, and also the various uses of the words naked and nakedness.

It is good for us to study the scriptures to know why we teach and believe the things of which we speak. Why do we believe that certain things are true and ordained of God as righteous principles which we should live our lives? Ministers of God must stand on the Word and preach only those things which the Word and the Spirit agree.

Genesis 3:6-7
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Adam and Eve made for themselves aprons to cover their nakedness. Was what they made to cover themselves sufficient to please God?

An apron is defined as a “belt for the waist.” It is very obvious that Adam and Eve, in their disobedient state, were not able to make good judgments without the influence of the Spirit of God. So what did God do about this condition?

Genesis 3:20-21
20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

God made them coats of skin. The Hebrew word which is here translated as coat is in other scriptures translated as garment and robe.

This subject of nakedness also was addressed in God’s instructions to the priests who were probably the first ones to wear trousers which God called breeches which many of us have translated into the word britches.

Exodus 20:25-26
25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.

The priest were charged with offering the animal sacrifices which the people brought into the outer court to be slain upon the brazen altar before the tabernacle. The brazen altar was raised up on a platform and the people watched the priest ascend the steps to offer the sacrifice. God did not want the people to see up the robe of the priest and see his nakedness. He did not want the nakedness of the priest to be discovered. The Hebrew word translated “discovered” means to show nudity in a disgraceful sense.

So what did God do about this condition where the people could see up the bottom of the robe and see the nakedness of the priest?

Exodus 28:42
And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach:

Here is God’s clear instructions which provides a partial definition of what is nakedness.
Nakedness includes that part of the body from the loins to the thigh. It should be covered at all times when you are in the presence of anyone other than your spouse.

How do we make sure that our nakedness is covered? We make our dresses and trousers long enough so that at all times, standing, sitting, bending and climbing stairs, or any other activity, we do not expose that part of our body. Some people would argue about the area covered by the thigh. The thigh is that whole portion from the hip to the knee. If we can see above your knee at any time, then we can see your nakedness. We did not make up this standard. It is given to us in the word of God.

Leviticus 6:10
And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen breeches shall he put upon his flesh, and take up the ashes which the fire hath consumed with the burnt offering on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar.

To ensure that his nakedness was covered at all times the priest was commanded to put on his robe and his breeches. This was the modesty standard of God.

Ezekiel 44:15-18
15 But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord God:
16 They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister unto me, and they shall keep my charge.
17 And it shall come to pass, that when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments; and no wool shall come upon them, whiles they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within.
18 They shall have linen bonnets upon their heads, and shall have linen breeches upon their loins; they shall not gird themselves with any thing that causeth sweat.

Here again we see the continual requirement for the priest to be modest. He must wear his linen robe and breeches when he is doing the service of offering the sacrifices.
This standard of modesty is not just for men. It is for men, women, boys and girls. Listen to the instructions which Paul gave to Timothy.

1 Timothy 2:9, “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety.”

Let us look into the Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance Dictionary of Hebrew and Greek words used in the Bible.
Uncover = SEC # 1540 O.T. Hebrew = to make nude, Especially in a disgraceful way
Apparel= SEC # 2689/2687 N.T. Greek = to put down, quell, quiet The intimate form of the body is subdued
Nakedness= SEC # 1320/6172 O.T. Hebrew = the pudenda, nudity near reproductive organs; the thigh is considered the part closest to the sexual organs.

Isaiah 52:10
The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

If the bare arm was considered nakedness and should remain covered, the holy scriptures would not express the willingness of God to make “bare His holy arm” for the deliverance and defense of His people. God would never express Himself immodestly.

To make bare is not shameful. To uncover is disgraceful and shameful.

Isaiah 47:1-3
1 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.
2 Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.
3 Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.

Notice the distinction between “make bare the leg” and “uncover the thigh.”
To make bare (cha’saph) does not imply shameful nakedness; uncover (ga’lah) does signify disgrace and shame.

Ezekiel 23:1-25 describes the spiritual fornication of Judah and Israel. It clearly teaches that the area of the breast has strong sexual connotations. Any pure minded person can easily be shown that this area of the body should be covered. If it is uncovered, it is nakedness. Collars (at the collar bone) are needed to prevent showing cleavage. Sleeves need to be of such a length as to prevent visual display of the torso. This standard is for men and women, boys and girls.

Ezekiel 23:1-5
23 The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:
3 And they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.
4 And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah.
5 And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbours,

The Holy Spirit will impress upon the mind of holiness people the necessity of modesty. We are easily entreated to dress in such a manner as to not purposely and intentionally attract the sexual attention of others.

1 Timothy 2:9, “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety.”

The two words “modest” and “apparel” teach us the rule for proper attire of holy people. Our clothing should be modest, orderly and decorous.
Our clothing should meet the requirements of apparel, to quell or quiet and subdue the form of the body.

Modest = SEC NT:2887 kosmios (kos'-mee-os); from NT:2889 (in its primary sense); orderly, i.e. decorous:

Apparel = SEC # 2689/2687 N.T. Greek = to put down, quell, quiet The intimate form of the body is subdued

These things our found in the Word of God. They are not merely the thoughts and ideas of men. We ought to dress to please God. We ought not to dress to satisfy the fleshly desires of men and women.

When you get dressed, ask the Holy Spirit if He approves of what you have put on. If your conscience is uncomfortable with how you are dressed, don’t override your conscience.

Contention Defined

Some people have accused me of being contentious about the circumstances in my life and the decisions of the ministry with whom I once had fellowship. I contend with evil not with people. I contend for the truth; I do not wrestle with it. I stand against injustice and false accusations; and I love those who have unlawfully set themselves against me and have chosen to shun me. I can not change them. I pray for them. I must stand for the righteous prifnciples once delivered to the saints and confirmed unto us in this day.

Contention is to resent and resist the person God has placed in authority over you.
Contention is when you strive to prove your superiority over another person without regard to mercy or righteousness.

Disagreements and misunderstandings will not cause division; but a contentious spirit will.

We must contend for the truth with love and mercy. We must be motivated to teach and instruct. We must not have as our objective and purpose to condemn and destroy.

Proverbs 13:10, "Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom."

Pride is when you exalt yourself above that which God has given to you.
Pride is when you take a position of authority or responsibility which is not rightfully yours.
Pride is when you think of yourself and your opinion more highly than you ought to think.

When you allow Satan to push you up above them to whom you should submit, you will become contentious. You will resist that which is right while you think that you are standing for what is right.

Proverbs 18:5-6, "It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment. A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes."

When you take sides with the wrong person, you will be caught in an evil snare.
When someone lies to you about a child of God and you believe the lie, you become partakers of their sin. It will not be possible for you to free yourself without humble confession.

Proverbs 22:10, "Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease."

If someone is speaking scornfully of a person who has authority in your life, you ought to recognize that Satan is tempting you to become an accessory to their evil.

1 Thessalonians 2:1-2, "For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain: But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention."

In our stand for truth, we will encounter contention. We must seek counsel of God and not become deceived by the deceiver.

Proverbs 21:19, "It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman."

Women are emotional. God made them emotional to meet the needs of their husbands and children. Women are very intense when it comes to relationships with others. These are not negative characteristics, but they pose a serious threat to the woman who does not understand the righteous principles which must govern her conduct. I agree with Solomon when he wrote in Proverbs 18:22, “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.”

It is not good for man to dwell alone. Marriage is a blessing from God. But a wife can bring a husband great distress, if she fails to follow God’s rules for her conduct.

Proverbs 27:15, "A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike."

There is little doubt that Solomon had some contentious wives who influenced him to disobey God. He had 699 too many wives and for that he had only himself to blame.

Church Registration in Kenya

This is a special request for monetary donations to pay for the registration of several church of God congregations in Kenya. We have filed for the Kenyan government's certification for these congregations. There are some fees ($500.00) associated wth this process and we would be very thankful for whatever support and contribution which you may be able to make.

If you would like to participate in this worthy cause for the gospel of Jesus Christ in Africa, please contact me by email and I will provide you with instructions on how to make the donation. My email is God bless you.

Minister's Meeting 2005

The following letter was written by Pastor Jim Storts to the mininstry of the church of God which conducts their annual minister's meeting in Lakeland, Florida. I wrote this letter in February 2005. I was excommunicated in October 2006. Many false reports have gone abroad to justify the actions of the ministry against me. The real reason is revealed in this letter. I had come to the understanding that the Third Earthquake was not a historical, past event; but rather, it is an event yet in the future of the church. Several ministers labeled me as being a false prophet because of my position on the Third Earthqauke. I am providing this letter to those who read these blogs to know the truth about what occurred.

Dear Fellow Ministers and Pastors,

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. May the grace of God be with you and in your ministry as you feed the flock of God in your area. My soul rejoices when I call to mind your faithful service and sacrifices to the Lord. May His rich reward be a daily reality in your life.

We have come to you, to bring a topic to your attention which has been tentatively determined by some of the ministry to be a subject of discussion at the upcoming minister’s meeting in Lakeland. It is our desire that each minister come to the meeting having given this matter some serious prayer and fasting. Satan would love to take a minor disagreement and make of it a major division. We must not allow the enemy to so affect the ministerial body of the precious church of God.

Galatians 5:13-16, “For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulful the lust of the flesh.”

A concise summary of this controversial subject is stated thusly: Is the Third Earthquake of the Revelation vision past, present or future? Can we accurately and scripturally say that the next significant event, in the future of the church, is the Second Coming of Christ? And, is it a Babylonian doctrine to hold the belief that the Third Earthquake and an End Time Revival remains to come to pass in the future of the church?

Some ministers have thought this subject is so important that they have preached their position in the general fellowship meetings of the church of God. Other ministers have felt that this subject should not be so emphatically preached until the ministerial body has given a majority consent. Some church of God ministers have expressed that we should not be limited in what we feel burdened to preach unless a specific objection is raised, at which time, there ought to be a willing submission to wait upon a consensus of the ministerial body. Proverbs 11:14, “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellers there is safety.”

Romans 12:5-10, “So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.”

Your Servant in Christ Jesus our Lord,
Pastor Jim Storts

The Fall of America

The following blog contains some prophecy, some facts, some scriptural statements and some opinion. These statements are not meant to establish a creed or test of fellowship. It is good for saints to be informed and to consider the battles which are currently being fought and the things which may shortly come to pass.

First, I would like to share a prophecy with you. Pastor Willie Gordon whom God favored and blessed with a successful ministry for the glory of God was the son of a church of God pastor. I have personally heard Bro. Gordon relate this prophecy. According to Bro. Gordon, whom I have utmost confidence, his father prophesied many events which came to pass. To the best of Bro. Gordon's knowledge, all of his father’s prophesies have come to pass except for one. That prophecy which has not yet come to pass was on this wise: Bro. Gordon’s father saw in a dream or a vision the President of the United States sitting at a table with other Heads of State. In this vision, he saw the President sign a document which surrendered the sovereignty of the United States over to a dark skinned nation.

Could that possibly happen to such a powerful country as the United States? So many questions come to the mind: why, when, how? Given the reputation and creditability of who made this statement, I strongly believe that it will come to pass.

Why? These things will happen because America has forsaken God and committed wickedness and immoral acts in rebelling against the Lord Jesus Christ. Immorality, sexual perversions and violence have compassed the camp of the saints. We are living in the days which are much like the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. We are living in a day of spiritual lukewarmness, spiritual blindness and outright rebellion. Psalms 9:17, “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”

When? I believe it will happen soon (my estimate of soon is 10-50 years). The actions of our President and those whom he has appointed to assist him have declared war on our constitution and the Christian standards which have previously caused God to bless America. Our President, who has a strong Muslim education, has declared that America is no longer a Christian nation. He is right. America no longer conducts itself in a manner consistent with the righteous principles of Christianity. Most people in America who profess that they are Christians have been taught that being “born again” does not provide grace to live free from the bondage of committing sin and yielding to the sinful desires of their flesh. Satan has more power in most professing Christians lives than does the Lord Jesus Christ who has overcome all the power of the Devil so that we could also overcome all temptations and powers of evil.

How? This is my opinion. You can make it your opinion if you want to do so. It is certain that it would take a grave condition which would put the lives of many Americans in imminent danger of death to compel the President to surrender the sovereignty of our nation. But it is possible. There are evil nations who have gained the knowledge and capability to produce nuclear bombs. These nations, especially the Muslim terrorists who have already killed many thousands of their own people, also desire to destroy Israel and America. They have already demonstrated the ability to enter America un-detected. They have recruited servants to their cause. They have planned and executed mass murder on our soil. They may have plans more dire in magnitude than what we have witnessed. If they enter our country through our southern, vulnerable borders and bring in their nuclear bomb material they could produce “dirty bombs” which could be detonated in multiple cities of the United States. They could have many martyrs standing in line to die for their cause. They could inform the President of their capabilities to destroy major cities in America. If we do not surrender they will destroy us. A city is named. The warning is ignored and the named city is destroyed. Another city is named. The warning is ignored and another city is destroyed. How many major cities would the religious haters of Christianity need to destroy before the President agrees to surrender, sign away the sovereignty of our nation and fulfill the prophecy of Bro. Gordon’s father?

America has sinned greatly against God and His Son Jesus Christ. There are inescapable consequences for this rebellion. True saints of God, Christians who have consecrated themselves to humbly serve the Lord Jesus Christ, must stand and be an example of the believer.

Matthew 10:26-28, “Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
