The Dispensation of God

The following excerpt is taken from the book “Birth of a Reformation” by A.L. Byers. This book was published in 1921 and is very beneficial for our instruction today. Truth does not change. Please read this carefully and prayerful.

“The human will, intended for the rule of our bodies and things terrestrial, things which belong to man’s province, becomes sadly out of place when exercised in any sphere or capacity that belongs to God. In such sphere it becomes a rival of God, a monster evil of great proportions, a distinctive satanic spirit, always opposing the true work of God. This man rule in a province to which God alone has rightful claim (for indeed it exercises the prerogative of God when it presumes to direct God’s work and people) has characterized all Protestant sectism just as it did Roman Catholicism, only in milder aspect. Man rule is represented in prophetic symbols by beastly character.”

“The beast element is the man rule. We are not speaking merely of human instrumentality, which God certainly uses in his church, when the will is wholly submitted to him and susceptible to his Spirit, but of that exercise and dominance in ecclesiastical matters which, as apart from God, is distinctly human. Such prevails more or less as a system in all sects, gives occasion for jealousy, pride, and emulation, wants to be let alone, and opposes any reform that threatens it. This is the element which naturally becomes disturbed at the preaching of the truth that exposes it.”

“This movement [of the church of God] proceeds with no show of prominence in the world. It causes no political disturbance, but works only in the province of genuine Christianity, silently, effectively, as the leaven in the meal. It is altogether a spiritual movement and its discernment can therefore only be spiritual. It may appear outwardly as only one religious body among many; for it is only when judged by the spiritual standard of God’s word that its character is seen. It is a call to those who are willing to be led of God.”

“The dispensations of God are in the beginning often insignificant and despised in man’s eyes. God chooses things that are not, to bring to naught things that are.”

“The constructive stage calls not so much for continual denunciation of sects as for manifesting those essential principles that characterize the church in her unity and entirety. The responsibility is to make good the claim, and this means much. Any tendency to establish traditions, or to regard a past course as giving direction in all respects for the future, or to become self-centered and manifest a “we are it” spirit and bar the door of progress against the entrance of further light and truth, or in any way to refuse fellowship with any others who may be Christians, would itself be sectarian, altogether unlike the true reformation, which, if it be final, must necessarily be a restoration and possess universal characteristics.”

“For proper representation everything depends upon the understanding of, and the attitude toward, this great movement. For any body of people to hold that the reformation is entrusted to them, or that they have become the standard for the world, is a self-centered attitude, vastly different from that which regards the reformation as something prophetically due, as having come independent of man, and as being greater than the people who have been favored with its light, and that it is their part to conform to it in principle, doctrine, and everything. The great movement is in the world, and any attempt to “corner” it or to limit it to a particular body of people could only result in making that body a sect, or faction, while the movement itself would proceed independently.”

The true church of God is the visible and invisible body of all true Christians. It has, in her normal state, under her divine head, certain essential characteristics which make her exclusively the church, the whole and not a part. The church is not a sect. It is not a denomination. It is not limited to a group, a certain fellowship or specific geographical location.

The church has and must have the following characteristics:

1.) Possession of divine spiritual life. If the church does not possess this she is not Christ’s body and therefore not the church. She must know the Spirit of God. This divine spiritual life teaches the scriptural process of salvation, by which people may obtain a real deliverance from sin and have the Holy Spirit as a witness to their salvation.

2.) Disposition to obey all scripture and to let the Spirit have his way and rule. This constitutes her safety in matters of doctrine and government. The truth only, and obedience thereto, is its motto; and it recognizes the rule of the Holy Spirit in the organization and government of the church.

3.) An attitude receptive to any further truth and light. This humble attitude safeguards against dogmatism and a spirit of infallibility and intolerance, against interpreting Christianity in the light of traditions and old ideas. It does not assume to possess all the truth, but stands committed thereto, holding an open door to the entrance of any further light and truth.

4.) Acknowledgment of good wherever found and the placing of no barrier that would exclude any who might be Christians. This makes salvation, a holy life, and a Christian spirit the only test of fellowship, and disapproves all human standards of church membership and fellowship. The spirit of the movement is to acknowledge good wherever found and to regard no door into the church other than salvation and no test of fellowship other than true Christianity possessed within the heart.

We repeat that these constitute the scriptural standard of the church and characterize her in her unity and integrity. It is by lacking in one or more of these essentials that a sect is a sect.

(Note: the foregoing thoughts were selected and edited from Brother A.L. Byers book “The Birth of a Reformation, 1921.”

I have heard these principles taught by ministers of the church of God since I was a young child. However, it seems that there has been a great disconnect between having the knowledge of these principles and having the experience of which they speak. I am confident that this sad condition is part of the effect of the Evening Time silence and apostasy. We must earnestly seek the Lord that we may see the restoration of glory of God upon the church of God.

It has been eighty long years since the church began its downward slide into silence and apostasy. Every decade has brought strife and division among God’s people. Many ministers have formed groups and fellowships under the guise of protecting the church from heresy and heretics.

Satan successfully convinced some that it was necessary for them to judge their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, lest some wolves in sheep’s clothing creep into the congregation. Based upon the foundation of their personal understanding, those who agreed with them were accepted and those who disagreed with them were rejected. This method of administration, where ministers judge one another without Holy Ghost guidance, is the establishment of a sect.

It is important that you and I validate these four characteristics which Bro. Byers has identified in the true Church of God. Do I and my congregation exhibit these four characteristics in our attitude, conduct and administration? Let us examine these four items more closely.

What is the proof that we possess this divine spiritual life? The proof is in what we believe and what fruit our faith produces. Divine spiritual life comes from the Father through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ came into this world in the flesh to set an example of this divine spiritual life. He is our example. Our divine spiritual life will look like and be like the divine spiritual life which He manifested.

1 John 4:15-21
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.
20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

What does it mean to “love your brother?”

When the Love of God is shed abroad in our hearts, what fruit does it produce? What characteristics will be visibly observable to those who are watching?

The fruit of the Spirit will be evident in the daily conduct of the child of God.

Judgment, righteousness and mercy will be evident in the administrations of the church.

A strong burden for the salvation of souls will prevail among the ministers and saints.

1 John 3:1-10
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Bro. Byers wrote: “Possession of divine spiritual life. If the church does not possess this she is not Christ’s body and therefore not the church.” This divine spiritual life stands in strong contrast to the human judgments and operations of those who are lacking this divine spiritual life. The minister and congregation which operates without this Holy Ghost anointing is operating outside of the will of God. Except God awaken, they will descend into sectism.

2.) Disposition to obey all scripture and to let the Spirit have his way and rule. This constitutes her safety in matters of doctrine and government. The truth only, and obedience thereto, is its motto; and it recognizes the rule of the Holy Spirit in the organization and government of the church.

Romans 6:11-18
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Obedience from the heart is one of the essential keys to a victorious Christian life. Faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the other key. That person who will humble himself in faithful obedience to the Holy Spirit will inherit the kingdom of God and all of the inheritance which God has promised.

The desires of the flesh, its comfort and satisfaction, will war against your faith and obedience.

Satan will provide you with many temptations to turn your heart away from faithful obedience.

Your closest friends and family, may tempt you draw back from a full consecration to God.

2 Corinthians 10:3-6
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Whereas you once disobeyed God, now you must seek revenge against Satan by giving your full obedience to the commandments of Christ.

Hebrews 5:9
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Only those who obey Christ have eternal salvation.

1 John 1:5-10
5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Fellowship is based on each child of God walking in the light which he receives from Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. You can not have fellowship with the body if you are disobedient to the Head of the Body.

If any person says that they have not sinned, they are a liar. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. If any person claims to be a child of God and continues to commit sin, he also is a liar, because you can not be a child of Satan and a child of God at the same time. Whomever you obey, he is your father. Either you obey Christ in righteousness or you obey Satan in unrighteousness.

1 Timothy 6:2-5
Verse 2b: These things teach and exhort.
3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

Surmising is to be suspicious. Suspicion is the negative opposite of confidence.

WEBSTER: SUSPICION: 1 a : imagination or apprehension of something wrong or hurtful without proof or on slight evidence.

SEC: Evil: NT:4190 poneros (pon-ay-ros'); from a derivative of NT:4192; hurtful, i.e. evil (properly, in effect or influence, and thus differing from NT:2556, which refers rather to essential character, as well as from NT:4550, which indicates degeneracy from original virtue); figuratively, calamitous; also (passively) ill, i.e. diseased; but especially (morally) culpable, i.e. derelict, vicious, facinorous; neuter (singular) mischief, malice, or (plural) guilt; masculine (singular) the devil, or (plural) sinners: KJV - bad, evil, grievous, harm, lewd, malicious, wicked (-ness). See also NT:4191.

Evil surmising is the fruit of a disagreement where Holy Spirit guidance is replaced by human reasoning. Human reasoning is a playground for the devil to work. He will take disagreements and turn them in to doubts and suspicions which evolve into evil surmising. Evil surmising destroys relationships and divides loved ones from each other.

Galatians 6:1-5
1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
5 For every man shall bear his own burden.

Ephesians 4:1-3
1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

The church has and must have the following characteristics:
1.) Possession of divine spiritual life.
2.) Disposition to obey all scripture and to let the Spirit have his way and rule.
3.) An attitude receptive to any further truth and light.
4.) Acknowledgment of good wherever found and the placing of no barrier that would exclude any who might be Christians.

The Meaning of Forgive and Forgiveness

Merriam-Webster Dictionary:
Forgive: transitive verb 1 a : to give up resentment of or claim to requital for b : to grant relief from payment of
2 : to cease to feel resentment against (an offender) : PARDON

Forgiveness: the act of forgiving

Requital: something given in return, compensation, or retaliation

Repent: to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one's life

Ezekiel 18:26-3226
When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
27 Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
28 Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
29 Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

Luke 13:3
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Acts 2:37-38
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Revelation 2:4-5
4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Revelation 2:20-23
20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

Revelation 3:18-22
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

The sequence of the work of salvation:
Holy Spirit enlightens the heart to its sinfulness.
Holy Spirit brings conviction upon the heart, knowledge of judgment and condemnation to come.
Sinner acknowledges his sins with humility, godly sorrow, repentance and a commitment to turn from all his sins.
Jesus Christ knows the thoughts and intents of the heart and sees the sincerity of the penitent sinner.

Jesus Christ forgives the sinner and brings peace into his heart. He is the Prince of Peace.
The sinner is pardoned, justified and restored to a holy relationship with the Father and the Son through the work of the Holy Spirit and the blood of The Lamb.

Repentance always activates forgiveness and produces reconciliation. Unless the transgressor is accepted and received in fellowship by the mutual works of repentance and forgiveness then either repentance did not take place; or, forgiveness did not take place. A person is not forgiven if he continues to be rejected and denied fellowship.

Forgetting should not be a part of the definition of repentance because it is not possible for men and women to erase from their memory certain severe trespasses. Although they may not be able to forget, they can forgive and not demand requital. They can cover that transgression with love and receive the transgressor back into their fellowship. We have been commissioned to practice a gospel and ministry of reconciliation.

2 Corinthians 5:17-19
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Luke 17:3-4
3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

Matthew 18:21-22
21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Mark 11:25-26
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Mercy and forgiveness are given to them who repent, not to them who continue in their rebellion.

This little booklet was written by a Christian who loves you. My greatest joy would be to help you find Jesus Christ and to know Him as your Lord and Savior.
If you would like to study God’s word with someone who is not committing sin, please call the telephone number given below.

How can someone who admits that they are in bondage to sin and can not cease from sin help you get deliverance from sin? These are they of whom Peter wrote: “While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.: Read 2 Peter chapter Two.

Romans 6:12-18
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Increase Your Account in Heaven

Matthew 25:14-30
14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

This is a lesson to teach us how God operates in the church of God.
You need to believe that this is the way things work in the kingdom of God.

15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

We are not all alike. God knows our abilities. We all have personal strengths which can be used for the glory of God. God will equip you with certain abilities and then expect you to use those abilities and for His glory.

Read 2 Corinthians 10:12
For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

If you think you are acceptable with God on the mere belief that you have done as well or better than your neighbor, then you have a distorted belief in how God will judge you. It is a very unwise act to compare yourself with another person. God did not create us with equal talents and abilities. Regardless of whether we have five, two or one talent, we must use what we have for the glory of God and the good of the Kingdom of God.

Are you using your talents and abilities for the glory of God; or, are you hiding your talents in the satisfaction and fulfilling of your own selfish desires and ambitions? People hide their talents by using them for themselves instead of for the glory of God. People hide their talents in their vocation, their possessions and their own fleshly desires. They are not much concerned about doing the perfect will of God. They are mostly concerned about what they want.

16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.

We are given an example of three men who were give three different levels of ability.
No doubt there are numerous levels of ability and God knows what He has given to you.

Your duty is to study and pray and ask God what He wants you to do and then go do it.

19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

There is a day of reckoning coming. You will be judged by Jesus Christ concerning what you have accomplished. If you have done nothing but hide the abilities which God gave you, you will be cast into outer darkness.

Philippians 4:17
Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

Paul was interested in the saints producing an increase for God which would be credited to their account in heaven.

Romans 14:11-13
11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

You will give an account of yourself and the record of your account will go before you to the judgment. You will meet the true account and you will not be able to deny it.

20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Notice that this man had a 100% increase.

22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Notice that this man had a 100% increase.
What do you think God expects from us? He expects us to use our abilities at 100%.
God does not have lazy children. Slothfulness is not acceptable with God.

Sleeping on the job is not acceptable. Jesus is not coming back for a sleepy church.

If you want to go to heaven when Jesus returns, you must be watching and working.

24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

How many people have received abilities from God and then hidden them in the earth.
If you are only interested in making your life comfortable and pleasant, you will neglect the work of God and hide your talents in the earth.

If you are ashamed of this gospel and refuse to tell others, Christ will be ashamed of you.

Mark 8:34-38
34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

What happened to this man who hid his talents in the earth?

26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

God requires an increase. If you are just “holding your own” you are not increasing and you are not acceptable with God.

28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The majority of the people in this world will fall into this third category where the talents which God has given will be hid in the earth and produce nothing for the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 3:5-13
5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

“Every man’s work shall be made manifest.” Your work will be made manifest. You have an account on the record books of Heaven. What is recorded on your Account? Have you had an increase for Christ?

Are you actively using the abilities which God has given to you; or, have you hidden the talents of God in earthly activities.

Ephesians 4:11-16
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

These are all different levels of talents and abilities. There are other talents not listed here. There are many workers who have been sent out into the harvest field of the Lord to be a witness of the righteous and holy character which God wants every person to see, to seek after and to possess. How will some people know about the holiness of God’s people if you don’t tell them?

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Are you making increase of the body?
Are you using your talents and abilities at the 100% level.
Will you hear these words of the Lord on that great judgment day?

Matthew 25:23, “His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”

Uncover your talents. Use them openly for the glory of God.
Make a commitment today to add to your account in Heaven.
You can’t go to heaven without an increase.

God bless you.

To My Readers

I appreciate the new additions to my readers list. I know that there are many readers who choose to remain anonymous. Jesus had secret disciples because they feared being cast out of the temple by their religious leaders.

As you read, I pray that God will bless you with wisdom, discernment and all the graces of the Christian virtues: humility, gentleness, meekness, kindness, patience, longsuffering, charity, faith, hope, brotherly love, and such like.

As you read these blogs, understand that they are the product of 64 years of life and experience. They are the sincere intents, thoughts and motives of one who loves the Lord Jesus Christ will all my heart. I have to the best of my ability and knowledge told the truth about myself and others without any desire to hurt or offend. My sole objective is to teach the way of truth and expose the wiles of the devil.

I do not judge or condemn any of them who oppose me. They think they are doing the will of God. If they are innocent in their lack of understanding, God will judge all things with mercy and justice.

Don't confuse teaching the judgments of God with judging the souls of men. Do all things with Charity. I pray that the God of all peace will keep your hearts stayed on Him and the way of holiness.

Don't Hurt God's Children

Don’t Hurt God’s Children

What would you do if someone hurt one of your children or grandchildren? Would you be upset with them? Would you make sure you find out what caused this hurt to happen? If someone intentionally hurt your child unjustly, would you want that person punished for what they did?

How do you think God feels when someone hurts one of his children? If one child hurts another, is God not going to instruct, teach and chastise the out-of-order child? In the church of God, one child is not ever going to intentionally hurt another child of God. If they did intend to hurt, it would be sin and they would not be part of the church of God.

Don’t Hurt God’s Children. God has said that they, “Shall not hurt in all my holy mountain.” In another place God has instructed the children of God to “Hurt not the oil and the wine.”

We want to look at these scriptures and let the Holy Spirit teach us and remind us of how our Heavenly Father wants us to treat one another.

All of you are familiar with the “Golden Rule” which has been taught to many generations. Remember the words of your parents and teachers: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

Matthew 7:12
12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Matthew 22:37-40
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

How do you treat people whom you love and respect? You do not intentionally hurt people whom you love and respect. The children of God must be careful how they treat one another.

Isaiah 11:1-9
11 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Something has gone seriously awry when people in the church bite and devour one another. God is not pleased when His children allow that old serpent, the Devil, to cause them to become strikers, hurting one another. What do you do with a child that strikes and bites another child? They must be chastised and corrected or else they will be put out of the home.

You better think twice before you carelessly hurt another person. We are not speaking of just a physical hurt. We are also talking about hurting someone’s reputation; or hurting them emotionally or spiritually. Remember, the Word of God says that “life and death are in the power of the tongue.”

Isaiah 65:18-25
18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
[Why? Because no one is being hurt. No biting or striking or destroying in God’s holy mountain.]Go to Verse: 25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord.

You have seen the artist’s picture of a child with a lion, a wolf and a lamb.
The destroying wolf has been changed to have the nature of a lamb.
The destroying lion has been changed to have the nature of a lamb.
Have you been changed so that you don’t hurt others?

Revelation 6:5-6
5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

Here we have a statement that says that we should not hurt the oil and the wine.
We not only do not want to hurt other people, we do not want to cause hurt to the oil and wine of God.

What is the oil and the wine. It is the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
By these two witnesses, men are saved and God’s people are made strong.
God’s children are careful to how they handle the Word and the Spirit.
We do not take the liberty to just form our own opinions and establish our own doctrines and religious beliefs.

Revelation 9:1-6
9 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.
2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.
6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

This passage has reference to the power of Protestantism and Catholicism and all false religions to cause hurt and destruction. However, the power of Satan working through false religion is limited. He can not hurt the children of God, if they will stay close to the Lord Jesus Christ.

These religious powers could not rob the saints of their salvation and eternal life.
We are not to fear the people who have only the power to hurt the flesh.
We must fear God who is able to cast both the soul and body into an eternal hell.

You must not hurt God’s children and you must resist, reprove and rebuke those who do.

A Child Divided

What do you think of a mother that would not only allow but agree to someone cutting her child in half?

What should a mother’s response be to someone attempting to cut her child in half?
Should she think: “If God is going to allow it to happen, it will happen regardless of what I does.” Is that an acceptable response? “Well, Daddy isn’t home so what can I do?”

First, let us establish how God uses these allegories of two women.

Galatians 4:24-27
24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

In this allegory, Agar (Hagar) represents the Old Testament covenant and Sarah represents the New Testament covenant. Agar represents what God and Moses did at Sinai. Sarah represents what God and Christ did at Jerusalem.

Revelation 12:1-2
1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.

This woman is none other than the church of God, the Bride of Christ.

Revelation 17:3-6
3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

This woman is the Roman Catholic church which is the product of the great morning time apostasy. She is called the “Mother of Harlots” because she produced many false Christian organization. She is the mother of Protestantism. This mother does not care what happens to the children of God. She is willing to divide congregations, families and marriages. The history of the Roman Catholic Church is full of testimonies of gross abuse to the children of God. They have cut them apart, pulled them apart and committed heinous acts of violence against God's children. Their unjust wars have brought great shame upon the name of Christ.

Revelation 17:18
18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

The Roman Catholic church is a great political and religious conglomeration which rules and has ruled over many nations.

Luke 11:17,
Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.

Any kingdom which bites and devours one another will destroy itself. When people are willing to advance their selfish cause at the expense of unity, they will divide, divorce and destroy.

1 Kings 3:23-26
Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living.
24 And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.
25 And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.
26 Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.

What is the message of wisdom in this passage of scripture?
Is it not in the unselfish consideration of the real mother for the welfare of the child?
The true mother cries, “Don’t divide the child! Don’t divide the child!”
The false mother says, “Divide it! Cut it into. You take half, I’ll take half.”

The church of God, the mother of all saints, does not want the children divided.
False believers will cry out, “Divide, divide. You take half, I’ll take half.”

How many ministers have sanctioned and participated in the dividing of God’s children, instead of laboring for the reconciliation of God’s people. Have they forgiven seven times seventy? Have they been longsuffering and patiently walked the second mile and given the cloak of charity?

How will you respond when you are confronted with someone who wants to divide the children of God? Will you be indifferent? Will you know what to say or do? Will you cry out, "Don't divide the child!" In almost every decade of the last century, God's people have been divided and scattered.

I can not be silent. We must cry aloud. We must sound the alarm. "Don't divide the child!"

The Revelation - Chapter Twenty-Two

1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Jesus Christ is the source of the “water of life.” The water of life is salvation through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the only one who can quench the thirsty soul. There is no pleasure or possession which can satisfy the soul; for it was created to desire truth and righteousness. John 4:13-14, “Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”

This chapter describes the life, the fruit and the eternal reward of the child of God.

2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

True salvation will cause the child of God to bear all of the fruit of the Spirit all the time. The message of salvation is for the healing of all nations. It is intended to heal the body and soul of all who will believe unto obedience. Proverbs 11:30, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.”

John 6:35, “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life:”
John 8:12, “I am the light of the world:”
John 10:7, “I am the door of the sheep.”
John 10:11, “I am the good shepherd:”
John 10:36, “Say ye…Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?”
John 11:25, “I am the resurrection, and the life”
John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth”
John 15:1, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman”

3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

There will be no curse of sin anywhere in the city of God which is the true church of God. The habitation of God’s throne is judgment, righteousness and mercy.
John 1:29, “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”
Psalms 89:14, “Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.”

Psalms 85:9-13, “Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land. Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase. Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.”

4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
The name of Jesus Christ and His gospel will be in the minds of all His people. The forehead is used to denote the mind and mental thought process.

Ezekiel 3:8-9, “Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads. As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.”

Revelation 14:9, “If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,”

5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

There is no darkness in the city of God. Jesus Christ is the light of truth and His gospel shines over all who dwell in the church of God. The holy scriptures teach us the meaning of spiritual expressions. We know that “night” and “darkness” represent the condition of a sinner and sinful deeds. A candle represents a witness to the light of truth. The sun represents the New Testament as the moon represents the Old Testament. Now if we transpose these symbolic interpretations into this verse we can see a fundamental and profound truth about the experience of New Testament salvation. If we have a right spiritual relationship with Jesus Christ, He is our Lord and Master and Savior; then, we have no need of any other witness or even the written word of the New Testament to inherit eternal life and a sure hope of heaven. The foundation of salvation is the fear of God coupled with faith in God which produces favor with God. If fear and faith lead us to repentance, then God will have mercy and pardon all them who seek Him and obey His voice. Subsequently, it is the perfect will of God that all His children be taught to know the Holy Scriptures and all the commandments of God. It is also His perfect will that His children have fellowship with one another. However, these additional benefits and blessings follow, not precede, the conversion experience of salvation. Titus 2:11, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,” All of your friends could become your enemies; and, they could lock you up in prison and take away your Bible; but, they can not take away your salvation. You do not need people or books to be saved from sin. As the Apostle John stayed saved on the Isle of Patmos, where he recorded this vision, you also can stay saved in your trials and test, regardless of how severe they may become. The Lord Jesus Christ will give you light and life and you can reign with Him forever.

6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

Notice that the angel was really a fellow servant to John. He was a saint whom God used to instruct John. We do not worship the fellow ministers of the New Testament church of God. We worship God and His Son Jesus Christ. We follow the ministers whom God has anointed to preach the gospel as long as they are followers of Christ.

10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

As John records these final words of the Revelation, we should understand that he is now speaking of the final days before Christ returns. The “sayings of the prophecy of this book” have been unsealed. The Seven Trumpets have been sounded. The Seven Vials have been poured out. The Seven Seals have been unsealed and revealed, the “mystery of God” is finished. When Jesus comes again, He will come as a judge and not as a savior. There will be no conversions at the time of Jesus’ second coming. If you are righteous, then you will be righteous. If you are wicked, then you will be wicked.

12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Saved people have eternal life and they enter through the gate Jesus Christ into the church of God. These saints are blessed because they have pastors after God’s own heart who feed them with knowledge and understanding. They feed on that heavenly manna, the tree of life, the bread of life, and the commandments of Jesus Christ.

15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Dogs are used as a symbol for false prophets. Isaiah 56:10-11 says: “His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.”

16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

A special invitation is given by the Holy Spirit for all who are willing and obedient to come and be saved.

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

Fanaticism is the sin of adding man’s requirements to the Holy Word of God.

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Compromise is the sin of subtracting requirements from the Holy Word of God. The Highway of Holiness has a ditch on both sides. Fanaticism is to get off of the Highway into the right ditch in favor of being more strict and more righteous. This is foolishness and sinful. Compromise is to get off of the Highway into the left ditch in favor of making the way more tolerant and forgiving. This is also foolishness and sinful. Satan cares not which ditch he is able to get you into so long as he gets you off of the Highway of Holiness.

20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

The Revelation - Chapter Twenty-One

1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

John is speaking here of the Church of God in its pristine glory as the bride of Jesus Christ. The church of God is this new Jerusalem. Hebrews 12:22-24 is written to the saints in the morning time of the gospel day. They were told that they were "come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn..." The church of God is the bride of Jesus Christ. He purchased it with His own blood. He brought it down to man that world could see the glory and power of God working through the saints of God. The church of God is the light of the world, the salt of the earth, the witness of God.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

We experience this wonderful relationship with God when we accept Jesus Christ. When He takes away all of our sins by reason of His sacrifice and our faith and repentance, there is no more tears of guilt and sorrow. Old things are passed away and all things are become new. The children of God no longer have the tears produced by the grief of sin. They no longer experience the wages of death which fall upon every sinner. The sorrow, the crying and the pain of sin have all passed away. With victory over Satan, sin and self we go forth rejoicing in righteousness and the grace of God.

5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

This is the message which has been preached from the beginning of the gospel. "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." The language of this book "The Revelation of Jesus Christ" is in total agreement with the rest of the Bible.

6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

This is the promised victory which is the right and inheritance of all born again believers. It is not, never has been and never will be, the will of God for the children of God to be in subjection to Satan or be ruled over by his power. Jesus Christ came to destroy the works of Satan and the works of carnal flesh. Someday Jesus Christ will present His bride, the church of God, to His Father. According to Ephesians 5:27 and Jude v.24, the church of God, which is made up of the believers, will be glorious, "not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish." and "to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy." If you do not fit the description of holiness and/or if the church you attend does not fit this description, you need to seek God and ask Him to help you find the true Church of God.

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

This is the promised punishment for all those who do not believe on Jesus Christ and reject His gospel. The lake of fire and brimstone is Hell. It is not life here on earth or any part of this time world. The second death is the term used to identify that final separation from God when a soul is cast into Hell. The fearful are those who know that they are not right but will not repent of their sins and seek God with a whole heart. They will all go to Hell. The unbelieving are those who do not believe they have to live holy in this present world and keep the commandments of Jesus Christ. They will all go to Hell. The abominable are those who live perverted sinful lives such as is described in Romans 1:28-32. They will all go to Hell. Murderers are those who have hatred in their hearts as well as those who shed innocent blood. They will all go to Hell. Whoremongers are those who lust after the flesh and live to satisfy their unlawful sexual desires. They will all go to Hell. Sorcerers are those who seek spiritual answers from any other source than the one true God. Witches, wizards, soothsayers, spiritualistic astrologers and diviners are among those whom the word of God classifies as sorcerers. They will all go to Hell. Idolaters are those who worship any creature, creation or mythical God. There is only one true God. They must be none before Him or beside Him. All idolaters will go to Hell. Liars include anyone who knowing tells something to produce an unjust deception. All liars will go to Hell. Is this the message you have heard your pastor preach? The apostle Paul wrote, "They which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

The specific angel which had the seven vials is the seventh angel. It is during the time frame of the Seventh Seal, Seventh Trumpet, Seventh Angel ministry, being parallel/concurrent symbols, that the full judgments of the seven last plagues were poured out upon sinful Babylon. Not only is the Pagan/Catholic/Protestant Eight Beast exposed and judged, the beautiful Church of God the bride, the Lamb's wife is revealed.

10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

There is no mountain so high or city so great as the holy Jerusalem, the Church of God. Jesus brought it down to earth that it might be the light of the world.

11 Having the glory of God: and her light [was] like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

The church of God has the glory of God. Jesus Christ is that jasper stone. He is the light of the world. His truth and His gospel are clear as crystal to those who have repented of their sins and through faith have been filled with the Holy Spirit.

12 And had a wall great and high, [and] had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are [the names] of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

The church of God has both the truth of the Old Testament as given to the twelve tribes of Israel and the truth of the New Testament as given to the twelve Apostles. The Old and New Testament constitute the entire will of God as inspired by the Holy Spirit to be written for the instruction of mankind in the ways of righteousness.

13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

The golden reed is the gospel of Jesus Christ with all of its commandments and holy precepts. It is used to measure or judge the city of God, the church of God.

16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred [and] forty [and] four cubits, [according to] the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

The church of God is perfectly shapened and formed. There is no part of it which is odd shaped or out of order. The symbolic terms "foursquare" "twelve" and "one hundred forty four" are numbers which God repeatedly uses to identify His actions. The "measure of a man, that is, of the angel" is the judgment message which the Holy Spirit delivers via the pastor of the congregation. An honest investigation of the scriptures will verify that God chooses to speak to the multitudes through the use of individual ministers. Old Testament prophets and New Testament ministers are made the mouth piece of God. These men are ministering angels, messengers of God. The people do well to take heed to their message.

18 And the building of the wall of it was [of] jasper: and the city [was] pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city [were] garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation [was] jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21 And the twelve gates [were] twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city [was] pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

Only precious stones are used to make up the foundation of the church of God. There is no wood, hay or stubble. Only those things which can stand the Holy Ghost fire will remain in the building of God.

22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb [is] the light thereof.

We have learned that the sun is the symbol of the New Testament and the moon is the symbol of the Old Testament. Ministers are represented by stars. All these, the sun, the moon and the stars are avenues of light. Verse 23 lets us know that when you get a revelation of Jesus Christ. When you see the real Christ and know Him personally; when you become part of His body, you will have no need of any inferior light to bring you to Christ. You will not need the Old or New Testament; you will not need the ministers of God, when you become illuminated by Jesus Christ Himself. The purpose of the Old and New Testament and the ministry is to bring you to Christ. This is not to say that while you remain in this world you will never again need to rely on the Old and New Testament or the ministry for instruction in righteousness.

24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

Faith in Jesus Christ with repentance unto salvation is the gate by which all men must enter into the kingdom of God. The light of truth illuminates this gate day and night. No man can open or shut this gate. Jesus said, "I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it." And He "openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth."

26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither [whatsoever] worketh abomination, or [maketh] a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

There is no membership record book kept anywhere on earth which maintains the names of those who are members of the church of God. Jesus Christ is the head over all things to the church. The head and the headquarters of the church of God are both in heaven. There is where the book of life is kept. Jesus is the only one who can write a person's name into the book of life. He is also the only one who can blot it out. Only those people who have truly repented of their sins and accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Master of their life have their names recorded in the book of life. If your name is not written in the book of life before you die and depart from the world, then you will not be able to enter the eternal paradise of God.

The Revelation - Chapter Twenty

1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

There is much confusion in the religious world about when this thousand years during which Satan is bound shall take place. We, who understand the truth of God's word, understand it to refer to the 1000 years between 530—1530 when Satan ruled the religious world through Catholicism. During this period of time, a public expression of faith in Jesus Christ separate from Catholicism was strictly forbidden. You must either be Catholic or die.

Adventism and Millenniumism are closely associated

Adventists are members of various Christian groups who believe that the SECOND COMING OF CHRIST is imminent. Their millennial hopes (see MILLENARIANISM) were aroused by the preaching of William MILLER (1782-1849). On the basis of a detailed examination of the Bible, especially the books of Daniel and Revelation, Miller predicted that March 21, 1844, and later that October 22, 1844, would be the day when Christ would return in glory and the Earth would be cleansed by fire, ushering in the millennium--a 1,000-year reign of righteousness and peace before the Last Judgment. When the time passed without event, many believers drifted away. False Prophets come and go, but their doctrines and lies continue in their disciples.

There is an amazing anomaly which commonly accompanies the propagation of religious heresy. There is a “spirit” infused into every false religious doctrine. Spirits have power to hold people captive to their false teachings. Although William Miller and his followers were proven to be promoters of lies, their religious influence continued to affect people. In spite of the fact that William Miller was proven to be a liar, his false doctrines were exalted by his followers as they continued to modify and embellish their presentations of the Adventist doctrine. The doctrine gained popularity as the significance of its heretical origin faded.

Many ungodly and wicked men have founded their religious organizations while their personal lives have been proven to be full of sinful disobedience to the Word of God. Such is the clear case of Charles Taze Russell (1852-1916) who founded the Jehovah’s Witnesses organization. Russell was proven to be, and confessed with his own mouth to be a liar. Joseph Smith (1805-1844) who founded the Mormon church was a polygamist, heretic and a deceiver of many souls. (Joseph Smith was killed by a mob while awaiting trial in Illinois.) Other men have likewise been used of Satan to preach a false gospel and a false Christ which is contrary to the True Christ of the New Testament.

The faithful remnant of Millerites coalesced into several religious bodies, the most important of which are the Seventh-day Adventists and the Advent Christian Church. Leaders of the former group had been influenced by Sabbatarian Baptists; thus, in that denomination, Saturday rather than Sunday is kept as the New Testament Sabbath. The most important early leader of the Seventh-Day Adventists was Ellen G. White (1827-1915). She was interested in health reform, and Seventh-Day Adventists continue to be noted for their medical missionaries, sanitariums, and concern for sound health practices, as well as for their millennialism and Sabbatarianism.

1. FALSE: God will rapture the church and leave all sinners here on the earth for an extended period of time.

TRUTH: It is interesting to note that when looking into the topical index of the Thompson Chain Reference Bible of subjects spoken of in the Bible, there is no listing or mention made of either the rapture or the millennium. The Bible does not teach these false doctrines. False prophets have conceived these doctrines with the help of Satan, the chief one who opposes all truth. The false doctrine of a Rapture as taught by modern theologian is a misinterpretation of certain scriptures. These are discussed as follows:

I Thessalonians 4:13-18
The apostle Paul is giving instructions concerning the future state of those who are asleep; meaning those who have died. Specifically, Paul wants to comfort the loved ones of those "which sleep in Jesus." In verse 15, the word "prevent" means "precede or go before." Paul explains to the church that we, which are alive and remain present in this world when Jesus comes back again, will not go to heaven before them or without them. When Jesus returns the second time, "the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them."

2. FALSE: The Jews will be left on the earth along with the unbelievers. The Jews will think that this is the Messiah's first coming.

TRUTH: First of all, let us understand that all of God's promises to the Jewish nation have been fulfilled. When Jesus came to earth, He gave the Jews the first opportunity to accept this New Testament gospel. They rejected Jesus Christ the Messiah and consequently they have been cut off and left desolate. The gospel of Jesus Christ was then presented to all nations of people without respect of person. In Matthew 23:37 and 38 Jesus pronounced this great end of the Jewish nation: "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate."

There is a definite transition in the New Testament where the expression "Jew" is used to designate people who have faith in God and who believe in and accept His Son Jesus Christ. A New Testament Jew is one who is born of faith and not just after the flesh. Listen to what Paul said in Romans 2:28,29: "For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God."

3. FALSE: The church will be in heaven eating the "Marriage Supper of the Lamb" with Jesus Christ. The Marriage Supper will last seven years. Meanwhile, on earth, the rest of the world will be going through the Great Tribulation, which also will last seven years.

TRUTH: Jesus used the symbolic expression of a "Marriage Supper" to teach that obedience to the call of God is a prerequisite to salvation. You can not partake of the good things of God; you can not eat the Bread of Life or drink at the Fountain of the Water of Life; you can not feast on the good things of God, except you repent and answer the call of God to come to Jesus.

Luke 14:15-24 teaches us about the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. It is not an event which will take place in God's heaven. The activities and conditions described in this parable are not conditions or events which will ever be in heaven. “And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God. Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.”

The above parable about the marriage supper is the same supper which is symbolically written about in Revelation the 19th chapter. The church of God is the Bride of Christ. She hath made herself ready in robes of righteousness, pure and white without spot or blemish, without sin. Revelation 19:7-9: "Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God."

The seven years of which the Millennialist speak is a perversion of the scriptures found in Daniel 9:24-27 and Revelation 11:9-11. These seven years are symbolically represented by seven weeks, and the three and one-half days representing 3 1/2 years. In Daniel 9:25 the Bible says: "Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks." The seven weeks in Daniel are part of the Seventy weeks which prophesied of the coming of the Messiah the first time. The seventy weeks are 490 years (7X70=490) reaching from the decrees of Artaxerxes the King (B.C.457) to 3 1/2 years after Jesus Christ crucifixion (A.D. 33). Calculated thusly, 457 + 33 = 490. Jesus' ministry was cut off in the middle of the last week (seven years divided in half equals 3 1/2). Daniel 9:27 says: "in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease."

4. FALSE: The Anti-Christ will come in the form of one man. He will be ruling the earth during the Great Tribulation. He will be doing signs and wonders and will bring peace and restore the Jewish temple during the first 3 1/2 years of the Great Tribulation. For those first 3 1/2 years there will be no working of the Holy Spirit, thus no spiritual conviction. The only way someone could get saved during this time is for them to remember what was preached before the Great Tribulation began. They would have to be martyred to get saved; fulfilling the scripture, "they loved not their life unto death." (see Revelation 9:2).

TRUTH: The anti-Christ is not a man but rather an office and a spiritual work against the true Christ. The apostle John who wrote the Revelation also recorded the epistles of I, II, and III John after he left the Isle of Patmos. In I John 2:18 John wrote: "ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists." Speaking of this same office and spiritual work which opposed Jesus Christ and His church, John wrote in Revelations 13:18 "Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six." This number 666 is the infamous number ascribed to the beast and the "mark of the beast." The beast and the antichrist are one and the same spirit which is Catholicism. The miter worn by the Catholic Pope of Rome bears the inscription, "Vicarius Felii Dei."

Applying the Roman Numeral equivalent to each of these letters in this title, one can see that the sum of those numbers equal 666.
V = 5
I = 1
C = 100
A = 0
R = 0
I = 1
U = 5
S = 0
F = 0
I = 1
L = 50
I = 1
I = 1
D = 500
E = 0
I = 1
TOTAL = 666

5. FALSE: The seven seals are going to be broken during the Great Tribulation. Right before the seven seals are broken, the souls of the 144,000 spoken of in Revelation will be brought to heaven. In heaven the Marriage Supper of the Lamb will end and Christ will bring all of those souls back to earth and set up His reigning throne on Mt. Olives. This is the beginning of the Millennial reign of Christ on earth. This is the beginning of the 1000 years in which the church will rule with Christ. Before the church can begin its reign with Christ, Jesus Christ must fight against Satan and put him in chains for 1000 years. During the Millennium on the earth we will live in a virtual utopia.

TRUTH: The seven seals are each broken by the Lamb who was worthy. The seals are broken sequentially in time relevant to the prophetic period being shown in the vision. The 144,000 is a symbolic number representing all of the redeemed of all the ages. It is a multiple of twelve which represents all of the tribes of God's people or his holy nation. (12 x 12000 = 144,000). The 1000 years during which Satan was bound represents the period of time between 530 A.D. and 1530 A.D. when Satan was restricted from working any further religious deceit. The Roman Catholic church was basically the sole enemy of the true church of God during this time. Since 1530, Satan has been loosed and all manner of religious deceptions have come into existence. In the minds of most people, Satan has effectively confused the gospel of Jesus Christ and the true meaning of Christianity.

6. FALSE: During the time period immediately following the Millennium, the Battle of Armageddon will be fought. Christ will loose Satan from his chains and then Christ and all Christians will do literal battle against Satan and all his forces. The Revelation prophesies that "Babylon is fallen" meaning that Christ and the church wins the battle. Many people believe that this "Babylon is fallen" pertains to the United States.

TRUTH: The battle of Armageddon is a symbolic term used to signify the battle between good and evil. This battle is spoken of in Revelation 16:16. It is the time of the seventh angel who is sounding the seventh trumpet during the seventh seal period of time (1930 - the end). Babylon is fallen because Babylon is the place of captivity of God's people. True ministers have exposed Babylon and cast her down. She will never be healed. Jeremiah 51:9 says: "We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country:" God has been calling everyone who will be saved out of Babylon since 1880. The end is close at hand.

7. FALSE: Then comes the Final Judgment. God will make a new heaven and an new earth where the saints will be forever and ever. This is where God has been all this time, working on the new heaven and new earth. Satan, together with all of his fallen angels, will be cast into hell after losing the battle of Armageddon. Then, Christ takes all of the saints to heaven to be judged and to receive their rightful inheritance. The sinners also go to heaven to be judged. At this time, God will do the separating of the sheep and the goats. All of those who are judged faithful will go to the new heaven and new earth, while those who are judged unfaithful will go to hell.

TRUTH: The final judgment will take place at the time of Christ second coming. When he comes again it will be the last day.

John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

John 11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

John 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. (This is the marriage supper of the Lamb).

1 Corinthians 15:51-57 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

When Jesus returns the second time:
It will be the last day, there will be not time allocated for a millennium.
The earth and the heavens will melt with a fervent heat, there will be no place for a millennium.
He will judge the quick and the dead, the saved and the lost, there will be no need for a millennium.

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

During the dark ages of apostasy from 530 to 1530 A.D. there were those saints of God who kept the faith of Jesus Christ. They were the people of God, the church of God in the wilderness condition of spiritual apostasy. They did not bow to the Pope of Rome, neither did they put their faith in the reformers of Protestantism. These people did not worship the beast or his image the false prophet, the lamb like beast.

5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.
This [is] the first resurrection.

The "first resurrection" is the resurrection we have in Christ Jesus. The second resurrection is the resurrection of all who have lived which will take place at the second coming of Christ. The first death is the physical death which all men die. The second death is the eternal separation from God when souls are cast into eternal hell. The next verse (verse six) supports this when it states that those who have part in the first resurrection will not be subject to the second death.

6 Blessed and holy [is] he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom [is] as the sand of the sea.

Satan was loosed upon the world to deceive, steal, kill and destroy following the opening if the 5th seal. After Satan was loosed he caused men to form hundreds of pseudo-Christian religions to prevent souls from finding the true Christ. This vast and confusing array of false Christian religions have caused people to forsake God and godly principles and serve flesh and the gods of this world. Compare this passage to Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39. Gog and Magog are references to the descendants of Japheth, one of the sons of Noah.

9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

When Satan's false prophets and their followers come around the Church of God they hear the fiery judgments of God.

10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet [are], and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

At the conclusion of this war between good and evil, Jesus Christ will cast Satan into the "lake of fire" which is eternal hell. The beast "Catholicism" and the false prophet "Protestantism" will be cast into the lake of fire with Satan.

11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

This is a reference to the same event which the Apostle Peter wrote of in 2 Peter 3:11,12. "Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heart?

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

This is the final judgment and the end of time. Every man will be judged according to their works. The works you do will rise up in judgment against you or for you on the great and final day of the Lord. If your name is not found in the book of life you will be lost forever and doomed to an eternal hell prepared for the Devil and his angels.

The Revelation - Chapter Nineteen

1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
2 For true and righteous [are] his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

The nineteenth chapter of Revelation is speaking of the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. It is a symbolic supper representing the spiritual communion between Christ and the church. We are enjoying that Marriage Supper at this present time. The judgment of the Whore which is Babylon and false religion has been sounded out loud and strong. We are praising God for deliverance from sin and false religion.

3 And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.
4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.
5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

The marriage of the Lamb is come, not will come. We, the bride of Christ, the wife of Christ, the church of God have made ourselves ready to fellowship with Christ, to eat the food of His table and wear the garments He has chosen. His food is His word and His wedding garment is the righteousness of the saints.

8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

These are the “garments of salvation” which were spoken of in Isaiah 61:10

9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed [are] they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Have you been called to the marriage supper of the Lamb? Do you have on your robes of righteousness? Are you following and obeying the voice of the bridegroom? This is not a scene of what will happen in the eternal heavens. This is a picture of the church of God in this present world as we sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See [thou do it] not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

The person whom John was talking to was not a celestial, angelic spirit; but a man who had know the salvation of Jesus Christ in this world. He may have been a person who had already received his eternal reward, but he was not a person to be worshipped.

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him [was] called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes [were] as a flame of fire, and on his head [were] many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

It is not difficult to understand that this person is Jesus Christ. No other person can ever fit this description.

14 And the armies [which were] in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Jesus is not going to literally return to earth to fight this war. This is the battle of Armageddon or the battle of good against evil. We are the army of the Lord and we go forth conquering and to conquer. We go forth in the name of the Lord and with the sword of the Lord. Just as Gideon's army went forth and won the battle by letting their lights shine with a great shout.

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all [men, both] free and bond, both small and great.
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

God has allowed all of the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven to fight against the saints of God. The fowls of heaven, which symbolically represent Satan's religious spirits, fight against both false religions and true religion. During this end time judgment upon false religion, Satan's evil religious spirits bite and devour one another as well as war against the saints. Study the scriptures found in Jeremiah 7:33; Psalms 79:2 and Matthew 24:28.

Compare with this Old Testament prophecy:
Ezekiel 39:17-19, And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood. Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan. And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.

Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 appear to be example of O.T. prophecies which have dual application and fulfillment. They have a literal fulfillment and a spiritual fulfillment. All the names of people and places in these two chapters (especially chapter 38) make reference to the descendants of Japheth and Ham, the sons of Noah.

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which [sword] proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

The closing of this battle will be the end of time and the judgment of all things. Catholicism and Protestantism will both be cast into the lake of fire. This is not the same place as the furnace of fire. The furnace of fire is in Zion, the church. The lake of fire represents eternal hell. All those who "worship" Catholicism and Protestantism will be cast into hell. There are some people who are held bondage in those places but they do not "worship" the system or doctrines which hold them. Daniel and the three Hebrew children were once held in Babylon but they would not "worship" those false gods.
