If thou canst believe!!!

If thou canst believe!!!

A man came to Jesus Christ with a serious request for help. And
Jesus said to him: “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”

I want to tell you today that those words are still true for you and me; “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”

Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

If you spend your youth doubting and questioning God’s word and His promises, what will you become in your adult life?

Jeremiah 22:21, “I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; but thou saidst, I will not hear. This hath been thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice.”

Jeremiah had warned the people that they were going to be punished for their sins and their disobedience to God. They dispised the reproof of the man of God and treated him cruelly. Jeremiah knew that they would not hear; but God told Jeremiah to tell the people and warn them of God’s wrath which was coming.

The apostle Paul writes a letter to a young man who was not disobedient, but chose to serve God in his youth.

1 Timothy 4:12-5:2
12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
The gift of God’s Word has been given to you.
If you have repented of your sins and asked God to forgive you, then the gift of salvation has been given to you.
The gift of a searching, inquisitive mind has been given to you. Intelligence and reason has been given to you.
The Holy Spirit has given you a call to seek after God with all your heart, mind and strength
15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
The messages of truth which you have heard are gifts from God. God has been faithful to you to give you enough understanding that you ought to seek after the truth.
God has given you eyes to see and ears to hear.
God has also given you an adversary to test your desire
5 Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;
2 The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.

You can be like the rebellious children of Israel or you can be like the church of God young person named Timothy. At some point in his young life, Timothy realized that he was a sinner and was wise enough to listen to his mother and grandmother and repent of his sins and give his life to God. You can do that.

Yes, the Bible does say in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” However, I would call you attention to the fact that it says “all have sinned”; it does not say, “all do sin, or all continue to sin.” Through the grace of salvation, we can repent and by God’s grace all of our sins can be past sins; not present sins and no future sins.

Psalms 25:1-10
1 Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
4 Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
6 Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O Lord.
8 Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

Have your sins been washed away by the atoning blood of Jesus Christ; or, are they still on your record. If you have not ceased from sin, then you are still spiritually dead, separated from God.

1 Peter 4:1-2
1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

The sooner you leave off committing sin and begin to obey the voice of God, the less memory of sin will be stored in your mind. If you do not have the memory of committing certain sins, Satan can not stir up your mind to think on those things.

Lamentations 3:27
It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

Be restrained and guided in your youth and you will be stronger.
Be restrained and guided in your youth and you will be wiser.
Be restrained and guided in your youth and you will avoid many sorrows which always accompany the acts of sin. Sorrow and sin are always companions.

Matthew 19:16-22
16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

The attractions of this world will be a continual temptation to you, but God’s grace is sufficient to help you say “No!” to every temptation.

Let the Holy Spirit help you have a vision of a wonderful reward for being true and faithful to Jesus Christ. A vision is a mental picture and an expectation of a definite future reward for your present labor. This wonderful vision is the expectation of being blessed and rewarded by God for your diligence and faithful obedience.

Can you believe in the rewards of living holy?
Can you believe that God is able and willing to give you good things in this life?
Can you believe in the promises and gifts of God through the Holy Spirit?
Can you believe that God still gives power to them who obey Him?

Jesus said in Luke 18:27, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”

Jesus said in Mark 9:23, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”

The apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

You can also do all things through Jesus Christ who will give you the strength to resist the devil and live holy.

If thou canst believe.

Fifteen times in the New Testament, we are told to “fear not.”
So, I ask you this question: Why are you afraid?
Whom do you fear and what do you fear?
Is not the Lord Jesus Christ greater than anything or person you may fear?

Fear kills faith. If you are afraid to trust God with all that is in your life, He can’t use you.
Fear is made strong by doubting that good will come to you.
And fear is made strong by believing that you will be hurt, either physically, financially or emotionally.

Thirty five times in the New Testament we find a warning against being afraid .
Don’t be afraid to trust God. There is no reason to be afraid if you have been obedient to the voice of God.

Have you obeyed?
Have you submitted yourself and your life to God?
If you do not have confidence in your relationship with God, you will be afraid to trust God. You will doubt that God will protect you, keep you from harm and bless you. Obedience produces confidence. Disobedience and doubt produce fear.

James 4:6-10
6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

If you have obeyed these words from the Apostle James, you have no reason to be afraid.
Jesus taught His disciples to trust Him and not give place to fear.

Matthew 14:23-33
23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
When things go contrary and you feel threatened, you will be tempted to give in to fear. Satan wants to create conditions in which you will not trust your safety to God.
25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

When Peter began to sink, what did He do? “He cried, saying, Lord, save me.”
What do you begin to do when you are sinking? Do you cry out to God? Do you fast and pray? Do you call the pastor and the saints?

I am in a life threatening, catastrophic situation and I say, “Well I don’t want to bother anybody.” Did Peter turn to the disciples in the boat and cry out, “Throw me a life jacket.”

Matthew 25:24-26
24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

Was this man’s fear based on sound reason? Do you accuse God of being hard because you know He expects you to produce an increase with the knowledge and abilities which He has given to you? This man was afraid because he knew that he had not been faithful to work for the Lord.

Mark 10:29-32
29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
31 But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
32 And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,

The disciples began to understand that they were going to suffer for their decision to follow Jesus. They were afraid of the unknown conditions which lay before them. They did not know what was going to happen to Jesus or themselves.

Luke 12:27-34
27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

The lesson which Jesus has taught us is this: you will protect your treasure. Whatever you treasure most is the thing you will protect and defend. If it is your life and your comforts of life, then you will protect and defend them. If your treasure is your salvation and your relationship with God, you will protect and defend that relationship by obeying the voice of God.

Matthew 10:22-28
22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

What is more important to you, your body or your soul?
Do your actions agree with your answer?

Luke 5:4-11
4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.
8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:
10 And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.
11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

Jesus was teaching them to trust Him. They believed the Lord and His power to meet their needs. Therefore, they forsook all, and followed him.

John 14:23-27
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Don’t be afraid to trust God.
Don’t be so troubled in your heart and mind so that you give in to fear and draw back from following the perfect will of God for your life.

Dear brethren;

I sent out this message about a year or so ago With the coming elections and the future of this nation hanging in the balances, I feel it profitable to send it forth again When Jesus called His disciples to service, they gave it their all even unto death When the founding fathers established this nation, they gave it their all, even unto death

We can follow in their example and give our lives to preserve this great nation or we can give our lives into the hand of godless political betrayal. I realize that there are many that do not share my assessment but I believe that anyone who will pay attention to the rulings coming out of our courts, congress, municipalities and schools, should be able to render a judgment

The following message is worth repeating.
It was written by Brother William Laughlin of Oregon.

As a nation, America has been unequalled by any nation in the world or in any time throughout history. The reason for this greatness is the desire of a people to be free of religious and political tyranny

The city of Nineveh was identified by God as “that great city” (Jonah 3:2). Nineveh was a magnificent city and the capitol of many of the Assyrian and Babylonian kings. It is easy for us to reach back in history and point an accusing finger at those nations and rulers who forgot that Jehovah was sovereign over the kingdoms of men. It is believed that Jonah’s prophecy occurred about two hundred years before Nebuchadnezzar confessed Jehovah to be “THE” God who ruled all nations. (Dan 4:1-3), (Dan 4:37).

Looking back farther yet we find the Philistines cry out in terror when the Ark of the Covenant came into the camp of the Israelite soldiers. 1 Samuel 4:6-8 “And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said, What meaneth the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they understood that the ark of the Lord was come into the camp. And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore. Woe unto us! who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty Gods? these are the Gods that smote the Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness.”

We find the city of Jericho in panic because of the God of the Hebrews.

Joshua 2:9-11 And she said unto the men, I know that the Lord hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the Lord your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath”.

I cite these references to establish that the God of the Hebrews was widely known in ancient times. All those nations knew of the God of the Israelites and cringed in terror when they fell under the prospect of facing His wrath. Is it any wonder that the city of Nineveh cringed in terror at the preaching of Jonah?

How do we identify the sin of Nineveh? How can a city be judged guilty of anything?

A city is simply a geographic site on which people live. In itself there is no life or moral nature. Yet when we look at the component parts that make up a city or nation we find the basic unit, the individual. The individual does have life and a moral attribute and therefore assumes responsibility to the sovereign ruler the God of heaven. The people of Nineveh by following a pattern of godlessness, violence and a people completely devoid of mercy, tortured, murdered and raped their conquered peoples. While Nineveh today is only a mound of ruins, it is only a few miles from modern Bagdad and the same mind is in the people of that region today. We need only to remind ourselves of the treatment of American personnel who were taken prisoner by the Iraqi army during Desert storm.

Then Jonah went through the city preaching that in forty days, Jehovah was going to destroy the city and all its inhabitants. The beautiful part of this story is the mercy of the God of creation. It is not the will of God that any should perish 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance”. The king and the people fell under the awesome awareness of impending judgment by a God they knew had the power to carry out His judgment. Having no hope or help did the only thing possible; they humbled themselves before God, repented and begged Him for mercy. And, God spared the city.
During the times of the kings of Israel , the people and their kings vacillated back and forth between the gods of the Canaanites and the God of creation. God repeatedly had to remind them of their special place in the scheme of this world’s events. They were a chosen and specially anointed people. God had chosen them to be representative of the heavenly purity of the spiritual life. We marvel at the stupidity of man, especially when we consider Solomon, the greatest and wisest man ever, forgot God. Solomon then disobeyed the command that Israel should not be joined with the Canaanites and married many foreign princesses. He honored his wives by building altars and idols for their gods which further led him into disobedience and finally he bowed himself down and worshipped before the gods of his wives.
God faithfully chided and warned the people of Judah of His covenant with them but finally the carnal stupidity of man caught up with them and God sent the prophet Jeremiah with a final warning that unless they repent and turn from their idolatry, they would be destroyed as a nation. When Judah heeded not the warnings, God sent Jeremiah to declare that Judah would be punished. Judgment was declared. God would remove His hand of protection and deliver the people into the hand of a tyrannical ruler. Judah was doomed to be conquered and enslaved. Notice in the following scripture that God does have a limit of patience at which time God WILL bring judgment and punish the disobedient. Especially note the phrase “till there was no remedy”.

2 Chronicles 36:15-17
And the Lord God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place: But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy. Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.

What lesson can America get out of the example of the Ninevites and the people of Judah?

First of all we need to recognize that America is under the judgment of God. America was settled by godly people. Our initial government was founded on godly principals. While there has been, there is and always will be evil elements in any society, America maintained a sound moral tone for nearly two hundred years. As a child, I did not have to lock my doors. We could play throughout the neighborhood after dark without fear. My sister regularly babysat in the community and would walk home in the early hours of the morning. While danger did exist, it rarely occurred in the suburbs and we heard little about it.

Today, it is unsafe for a child to walk to school unescorted. Children are being abducted from their own beds in the middle of the night, taken to remote places and viciously murdered. Someone gets upset and takes a handful of guns into a school, library, courthouse and even on a military base and senselessly begins random killings. Atrocities of every conceivable kind are running rampant by a society without any basic moral fabric.

The subtle workings of moral decline are easily disguised in their early stages. Many of us can remember during the 1950s and 1960’s when a mother objected to her son being subjected to Bible reading in the classroom. (Madeline Murray O’Hare) Because of that one voice, this nation started down the pathway to godlessness. Where were the voices objecting to such a ruling? Recent history has identified the 1960’s as an era of rebellion. I wonder how many are aware that our youth were taught to rebel in the classroom. My wife’s brother who was in high school at the time came home and told us that his teachers were advising them not to listen to their parents but to think for themselves. They were being told that their parents had their day. Now it is your day. As a note, the school my brother-in-law attended was Montebello High School , the same school that recently permitted the American flag to be flown upside down beneath the Mexican flag. What a disgrace. Over the last fifty years we have watched the systematic demoralization of American society by liberal judges who do not administer the law but impose their own view on the people declaring various constitutional rights unconstitutional and once a judgment is rendered, other judges are reluctant to reverse them making our own constitution benign.

There have been voices along the way that tried to alert the people of this country of this demoralization but the common average everyday citizen did nothing but sit there and make some utterance such as “TSK, TSK”. If they made any comment al all it might be something like “why doesn’t somebody do something about that”?

Then the religious fabric of America was systematically attacked. Rules and restrictions were cutting deeper and deeper into the religious freedoms until now they want to criminalize preaching against Bible doctrines that identify and judge sin. Again, a small minority is objecting and the nation is altering centuries of godly principals in favor of the few objectors. All the while the level of morality is further eroded. We as a nation have arrived at the ripest time for the wrath of God to fall on this unholy land and we well deserve it. We said very little if anything at all while all this was in development, why are we surprised at the results?

Brethren, those of you that have received my mailings are well aware that I advocate pressuring your congressmen. Our congressional leaders are our voice in government. If they will not act and vote as we desire, boot them out and put someone in office that will. But, this is not going to be enough. I think that the powers currently in government may already have enough power to survive the political process.

I believe our only hope of salvaging the future of American freedoms is to look back at Nineveh and Judah . Like those nations were then, I believe America is now. Not only in political and religious tyranny but also under the impending judgment of God. Much of this demoralization was well planned and orchestrated. A demoralized people are easily conquered. For others it was a simple throwing up the hands and declaring “what can I do about it” and then going back to sleep. “A little folding of the hands” Proverbs 24:33-34 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

Then there is Paul’s admonition about a society desiring godless practices. Romans 1:28 “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;”

Like Nineveh and Judah , America is made up of the foundation fabric of the individual. That means you and me. We as the Christian community did not stand up and cry out against these things. We stood by and shook our heads and did nothing positive to ward off these encroaching abuses. Now we stand on the brink of national ruin and the hand of man has little if any power to halt its progress. However, like those nations, America I believe does have an alternative. If we as a nation can swallow our pride, arrogance and elitist attitudes, humble ourselves before God and confess our failure to uphold His statutes, bow our hearts in godly repentance, God
may still spare this nation.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

My friend, if we are not capable of such humility and repentance, I fear that anything else we may do may be fruitless. It may already be too late for a political recovery. Why is it that the people of God have to be reminded that our prosperity is in direct proportion with our submissive obedience to the Word of God?

I will continue trying to alert and alarm complacent Americans. But more than that, I believe our only hope is in God’s mercy. Let’s pray that we have not reached the point of no return. Do not forget the prophet Jeremiah. The people rejected his preaching until Israel ’s fate was sealed and their destruction could not be averted.

2 Chronicles 36:16
But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

Do we have a Jonah or a Jeremiah today? Is there a remedy for America?

God bless you all

The Written Word of God

Let us take a journey through the scriptures and look at the many witnesses which are stationed throughout the historical pathway of mankind. These are the waymarks which have been put in place by God to remind us that we are reading the directions for life which have been given by God.

I would like to bring to your attention the frequent proclamations in the Holy Scriptures that the writers were writing under the divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Bible is not just another book setting forth the ideas and beliefs of some men. When I speak of the Bible, I do not refer to the many perverse translations which have been published by the agents of Satan whose purpose is to corrupt the minds of men against God. The large majority of holiness people stand firmly on the King James Version of the Bible. The integrity of the KJV does not rest upon the integrity of King James, but rather upon the will of God to provide a trustworthy copy of His Word so that the people of this world might know the Truth.

Moses was instructed by God to write in a book the things which the Holy Spirit brought to his attention. At certain times God gave the inspired writer understanding of what he was writing. There were also times when the understanding was withheld. Some things were written for the understanding of the people at a future date.

Exodus 17:14, “Write this for a memorial in a book…”

Deuteronomy 27:8, “…write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.”

Deuteronomy 29:4, “Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.”

Elihu’s understanding was not without error; however, he did understand that “there is a spirit in man” and that spirit is there for the express purpose of hearing from God and understanding the will of God.

Job 32:8, “But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.”

The great prophet Isaiah heard the voice of God and wrote in a book the things which God told him.

Isaiah 30:8, “…write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:”

Likewise, Jeremiah also wrote in a book the words which were spoken to him by God.

Jeremiah 30:2, “Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.”

Ezekiel was a man of God who obeyed the voice of God to record His commandments and warnings.

Ezekiel 43:11, “…write it in their sight, that they may keep the whole form thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and do them.

The prophet Habakkuk adds his witness to the holy record that God has spoken and commanded that the record be written for people to read.

Habakkuk 2:2, “And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables.”

The New Testament writers give their testimony that the Old Testament was written by divine inspiration declaring the things which shall afterwards come to pass.

John 1:45, “We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write”

If you claim to be a Christian and you can not perceive that the Holy Bible was written by divine inspiration, then it can only be understood that you are not listening to the Holy Spirit because He will testify that these things are truly the Words of God.

1 Corinthians 14:37, “If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.”

The Apostle Paul continues to proclaim that “All scripture is given by inspiration of God.” The word of God has been recorded in a book for our instruction in the laws and judgments of God. Only a fool will ignore the preponderance of facts and testimony which give witness to us that God has spoken to us in this book.

2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”

Jude, who is believed to be the brother of Jesus Christ, born of Joseph and Mary, wrote to us of the “common salvation” which is the purpose and continual thread of this wonderful book, the Holy Bible.

Jude v.3, “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”

Last, but not least, we have the testimony of that apostle whom Jesus loved, John who received The Revelation of Jesus Christ, “which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass,”

Revelation 1:11, “What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia.”

The final command is consistent with all that preceded, “…these words are true and faithful.” There was a certain rich man who died and went to hell because of the selfish manner in which he lived his life. We are told that he was allowed to talk to Abraham who was in Heaven’s Paradise. The rich man wanted Abraham to send Lazarus, a poor beggar who was known to him and his family on earth, to warn his brothers of the awful place of hell. Abraham told the rich man that if his brothers would not believe the Bible, neither would they believe one who rose from the grave. Unbelief is a strong spirit which holds men in their sins and prevents them from believing the blessed truth of the Word of God.

Revelation 21:5, “Write: for these words are true and faithful.”

Can you believe the Word of God contained in the Holy Bible?

Mark 9:23, “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”

David Barton on Obama

This article was published by David Barton at

When one observes President Obama’s unwillingness to accommodate America’s four-century long religious conscience protection through his attempts to require Catholics to go against their own doctrines and beliefs, one is tempted to say that he is anti-Catholic. But that characterization would not be correct. Although he has recently singled out Catholics, he has equally targeted traditional Protestant beliefs over the past four years. So since he has attacked Catholics and Protestants, one is tempted to say that he is anti-Christian. But that, too, would be inaccurate. He has been equally disrespectful in his appalling treatment of religious Jews in general and Israel in particular. So perhaps the most accurate description of his antipathy toward Catholics, Protestants, religious Jews, and the Jewish nation would be to characterize him as anti-Biblical. And then when his hostility toward Biblical people of faith is contrasted with his preferential treatment of Muslims and Muslim nations, it further strengthens the accuracy of the anti-Biblical descriptor. In fact, there have been numerous clearly documented times when his pro-Islam positions have been the cause of his anti-Biblical actions.
Listed below in chronological order are (1) numerous records of his attacks on Biblical persons or organizations; (2) examples of the hostility toward Biblical faith that have become evident in the past three years in the Obama-led military; (3) a listing of his open attacks on Biblical values; and finally (4) a listing of numerous incidents of his preferential deference for Islam’s activities and positions, including letting his Islamic advisors guide and influence his hostility toward people of Biblical faith.

1. Acts of hostility toward people of Biblical faith:
• April 2008 – Obama speaks disrespectfully of Christians, saying they “cling to guns or religion” and have an “antipathy to people who aren't like them.” 1
• February 2009 – Obama announces plans to revoke conscience protection for health workers who refuse to participate in medical activities that go against their beliefs, and fully implements the plan in February 2011. 2
• April 2009 – When speaking at Georgetown University, Obama orders that a monogram symbolizing Jesus' name be covered when he is making his speech. 3
• May 2009 – Obama declines to host services for the National Prayer Day (a day established by federal law) at the White House. 4
• April 2009 – In a deliberate act of disrespect, Obama nominated three pro-abortion ambassadors to the Vatican; of course, the pro-life Vatican rejected all three. 5
• October 19, 2010 – Obama begins deliberately omitting the phrase about “the Creator” when quoting the Declaration of Independence – an omission he has made on no less than seven occasions. 6
• November 2010 – Obama misquotes the National Motto, saying it is “E pluribus unum” rather than “In God We Trust” as established by federal law. 7
• January 2011 – After a federal law was passed to transfer a WWI Memorial in the Mojave Desert to private ownership, the U. S. Supreme Court ruled that the cross in the memorial could continue to stand, but the Obama administration refused to allow the land to be transferred as required by law, and refused to allow the cross to be re-erected as ordered by the Court. 8
• February 2011 – Although he filled posts in the State Department, for more than two years Obama did not fill the post of religious freedom ambassador, an official that works against religious persecution across the world; he filled it only after heavy pressure from the public and from Congress. 9
• April 2011 – For the first time in American history, Obama urges passage of a non-discrimination law that does not contain hiring protections for religious groups, forcing religious organizations to hire according to federal mandates without regard to the dictates of their own faith, thus eliminating conscience protection in hiring. 10
• August 2011 – The Obama administration releases its new health care rules that override religious conscience protections for medical workers in the areas of abortion and contraception. 11
• November 2011 – Obama opposes inclusion of President Franklin Roosevelt’s famous D-Day Prayer in the WWII Memorial. 12
• November 2011 – Unlike previous presidents, Obama studiously avoids any religious references in his Thanksgiving speech. 13
• December 2011 – The Obama administration denigrates other countries' religious beliefs as an obstacle to radical homosexual rights. 14
• January 2012 – The Obama administration argues that the First Amendment provides no protection for churches and synagogues in hiring their pastors and rabbis. 15
• February 2012 – The Obama administration forgives student loans in exchange for public service, but announces it will no longer forgive student loans if the public service is related to religion. 16
2. Acts of hostility from the Obama-led military toward people of Biblical faith:
• June 2011 – The Department of Veterans Affairs forbids references to God and Jesus during burial ceremonies at Houston National Cemetery. 17
• August 2011 – The Air Force stops teaching the Just War theory to officers in California because the course is taught by chaplains and is based on a philosophy introduced by St. Augustine in the third century AD – a theory long taught by civilized nations across the world (except America). 18
• September 2011 – Air Force Chief of Staff prohibits commanders from notifying airmen of programs and services available to them from chaplains. 19
• September 2011 – The Army issues guidelines for Walter Reed Medical Center stipulating that “No religious items (i.e. Bibles, reading materials and/or facts) are allowed to be given away or used during a visit.” 20
• November 2011 – The Air Force Academy rescinds support for Operation Christmas Child, a program to send holiday gifts to impoverished children across the world, because the program is run by a Christian charity. 21
• November 2011 – The Air Force Academy pays $80,000 to add a Stonehenge-like worship center for pagans, druids, witches and Wiccans. 22
• February 2012 – The U. S. Military Academy at West Point disinvites three star Army general and decorated war hero Lieutenant General William G. (“Jerry”) Boykin (retired) from speaking at an event because he is an outspoken Christian. 23
• February 2012 – The Air Force removes “God” from the patch of Rapid Capabilities Office (the word on the patch was in Latin: Dei). 24
• February 2012 – The Army orders Catholic chaplains not to read a letter to parishioners that their archbishop asked them to read. 25
3. Acts of hostility toward Biblical values:
• January 2009 – Obama lifts restrictions on U.S. government funding for groups that provide abortion services or counseling abroad, forcing taxpayers to fund pro-abortion groups that either promote or perform abortions in other nations. 26
• January 2009 – President Obama’s nominee for deputy secretary of state asserts that American taxpayers are required to pay for abortions and that limits on abortion funding are unconstitutional. 27
• March 2009 – The Obama administration shut out pro-life groups from attending a White House-sponsored health care summit. 28
• March 2009 – Obama orders taxpayer funding of embryonic stem cell research. 29
• March 2009 – Obama gave $50 million for the UNFPA, the UN population agency that promotes abortion and works closely with Chinese population control officials who use forced abortions and involuntary sterilizations. 30
• May 2009 – The White House budget eliminates all funding for abstinence-only education and replaces it with “comprehensive” sexual education, repeatedly proven to increase teen pregnancies and abortions. 31 He continues the deletion in subsequent budgets. 32
• May 2009 – Obama officials assemble a terrorism dictionary calling pro-life advocates violent and charging that they use racism in their “criminal” activities. 33
• July 2009 – The Obama administration illegally extends federal benefits to same-sex partners of Foreign Service and Executive Branch employees, in direction violation of the federal Defense of Marriage Act. 34
• September 16, 2009 – The Obama administration appoints as EEOC Commissioner Chai Feldblum, who asserts that society should “not tolerate” any “private beliefs,” including religious beliefs, if they may negatively affect homosexual “equality.” 35
• July 2010 – The Obama administration uses federal funds in violation of federal law to get Kenya to change its constitution to include abortion. 36
• August 2010 – The Obama administration Cuts funding for 176 abstinence education programs. 37
• September 2010 – The Obama administration tells researchers to ignore a judge’s decision striking down federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. 38
• February 2011 – Obama directs the Justice Department to stop defending the federal Defense of Marriage Act. 39
• March 2011 – The Obama administration refuses to investigate videos showing Planned Parenthood helping alleged sex traffickers get abortions for victimized underage girls. 40
• July 2011 – Obama allows homosexuals to serve openly in the military, reversing a policy originally instituted by George Washington in March 1778. 41
• September 2011 – The Pentagon directs that military chaplains may perform same-sex marriages at military facilities in violation of the federal Defense of Marriage Act. 42
• October 2011 – The Obama administration eliminates federal grants to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops for their extensive programs that aid victims of human trafficking because the Catholic Church is anti-abortion. 43
4. Acts of preferentialism for Islam:
• May 2009 – While Obama does not host any National Day of Prayer event at the White House, he does host White House Iftar dinners in honor of Ramadan. 44
• April 2010 – Christian leader Franklin Graham is disinvited from the Pentagon’s National Day of Prayer Event because of complaints from the Muslim community. 45
• April 2010 – The Obama administration requires rewriting of government documents and a change in administration vocabulary to remove terms that are deemed offensive to Muslims, including jihad, jihadists, terrorists, radical Islamic, etc. 46
• August 2010 – Obama speaks with great praise of Islam and condescendingly of Christianity. 47
• August 2010 – Obama went to great lengths to speak out on multiple occasions on behalf of building an Islamic mosque at Ground Zero, while at the same time he was silent about a Christian church being denied permission to rebuild at that location. 48
• 2010 – While every White House traditionally issues hundreds of official proclamations and statements on numerous occasions, this White House avoids traditional Biblical holidays and events but regularly recognizes major Muslim holidays, as evidenced by its 2010 statements on Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha. 49
• October 2011 – Obama’s Muslim advisers block Middle Eastern Christians’ access to the White House. 50
• February 2012 – The Obama administration makes effulgent apologies for Korans being burned by the U. S. military, 51 but when Bibles were burned by the military, numerous reasons were offered why it was the right thing to do. 52
Many of these actions are literally unprecedented – this is the first time they have happened in four centuries of American history. The hostility of President Obama toward Biblical faith and values is without equal from any previous American president.

Regardless of the manner of life you live, you are having an influence on someone.

If you do not have the grace of God in your life, Satan will use your life to influence others to believe that they can not do any better than you.

If you are a hypocrite, Satan will use your life to cause others to hypocrite or think evil of the way of salvation.

The only way you can have a good influence is to do good. You can not do good without God.

Someone has had an influence upon us; and, we have had and will continue to have an influence upon other people. You are affecting the way someone thinks. I am affecting the way someone thinks. All minister, saints and sinners are affecting the way someone thinks.

Romans 14:7, “For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.”

1 Corinthians 3:18, “18 Let no man deceive himself.”

People are going to be influenced and affected by what you tell them you are. You can deceive yourself and hurt others and perhaps deceive others. If you are not a true Christian and you cause others to believe that Christians are like you, then you have deceived them.

If you are a sinner and you cause people to think that they can live a sinful life like you live and still go to heaven, you have deceived them. You have influenced them for the benefit of Satan, who wants to destroy your soul and their soul.

Galatians 6:1-5
6 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
5 For every man shall bear his own burden.

It is imperative that every person “prove his own work.”
If you think yourself to be something and you are not that thing which you claim to be, then you have deceived yourself and possible deceived others.

John 13:12-17
12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?
13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

Jesus said: “I have given you an example.”
An example is a pattern to be imitated. Jesus is our example. He is the one who should be influencing our decisions and actions. We ought to be walking in His footsteps. Are you following Jesus? Is Jesus the greatest influence in your life? The person whom you are following; is he following Jesus?

1 Timothy 4:12-16
12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Timothy was influenced by Paul’s life. Paul told Timothy to study to show himself approved unto God and to be an example of the Believers in every area of his life. Paul told Timothy to be a pattern of a true Christian in word, conversation, charity, spirit, faith, purity, attendance to reading, exhortation, and doctrine. Can someone follow the pattern of your life in all these things and be approved unto God?

Hebrews 4:1-11
4 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

If someone follows your example will they enter the door of faith; or, will they fall by your example of unbelief?

James 5:7-11
7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

Romans 14:17-19
17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

1 Thessalonians 5:14-15
14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

2 Thessalonians 3:6-9
6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.

Paul did not exercise his God ordained privilege of receiving support for his labors in the Kingdom, because he wanted to impress upon the people the great importance of diligence and self-sacrifice. He would have been perfectly in order to allow the people to support him financially.

1 Peter 2:21-23
21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

Here is an example of the way we ought to live. This is the pattern we ought to follow. The mind of Christ ought to be in us as the over-riding influence which moves us in every decision and activity.

3 John 9-12
9 I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not.
10 Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.
11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
12 Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true.

We have good examples and bad examples. Some who claim to be leaders in the church, we must not follow. Others who live holy and manifest the fruit of the Holy Spirit, we ought to follow.

Who is influencing you and who are you influencing?
