What is your definition of “judgment”?

I believe that too many people think of condemnation when they think of judgment.  The proper thought you should have in association with “judgment” is “instruction”, not condemnation.

The Bible teaches us that the church of God is built up with judgment.

If you think that is condemnation, then you will put more emphasis on condemning people than on teaching and instructing them in the right way of holiness and truth.  Or, you may avoid the judgments of God by thinking that it is wrong to judge what God has condemned.

When we stand against what God has condemned, it is not our judgment but rather it is God’s judgment.

Proverbs 21:15
It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

It is a joy to the saints of God to “do judgment.”

It is a joy to obey the righteous commandments of God, because it produces the peaceable fruits of righteousness.  Nothing is better than being right.  Nothing is worse than being disobedient.  A clear conscience is worth the whole world.  Being confident of our relationship and fellowship with God is the most precious thing we can ever have in this life.

1 John 5:2-3
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

The children of God do not find His commandments hard and grievous.  It is our delight and pleasure to do the will of God.  We are willing to suffer with our Savior.  We know that we will face difficulties, afflictions and persecutions.  We face those things with a strong hope and a strong sense of peace.  We know that God will reward us when we are faithful to serve Him.

Amos 5:4-7
4 For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:
5 But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beer-sheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought.
6 Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.
7 Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,

Wormwood is poisonous hemlock.  When judgment is rendered without righteousness, it will kill and destroy.

Parent to child, pastor to congregation and any person to any person.

Judgment without rightousness and mercy will destroy authority, confidence and influence.

A parent or a pastor will lose their authority over the people.  The people will not be able to hold confidence in their ability to render justice.  The leader will lose his influence over those whom he needs to lead, guide and instruct.

When a minister or a parent or a teacher becomes a “striker” instead of a teacher, he has departed from God’s way and began to use methods prompted by carnality.

Amos 6:11-13
11 For, behold, the LORD commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts.
12 Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:
13 Ye which rejoice in a thing of nought, which say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength?

Gall is a poisonous plant like hemlock.

It is a terrible thing for rulers and leaders and all people in positions of authority to pervert judgment and turn it into something bitter and poisonous.

Luke 12:45-47
45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

It is a serious matter when leaders begin to beat or thrash the children for matters less than willful disobedience.  We thrash sinners and Babylon.  We do not thrash one another.  Jesus came to save not to condemn.  Our emphasis is not on condemnation but right instruction.

Jeremiah 10:23-24
23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
24 O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.

Judgment is not meted out in anger.  It is given as instructions with a burden of loving concern.

Psalms 19:7-11
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

The judgments of God are desirable, rich and sweeter than honey.

Are the judgments of God like that to you?

Do you handle the judgments of God as if they are food or as if they are weapons?
2 Corinthians 3:5-6
5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

God has made His saints and His ministers able ministers of the New Testament.  Because we have the help of the Holy Spirit, we can use the Word and the Sword without killing those who are innocent.

Psalms 89:14-15
14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.

Judgment has a joyful sound.  The saints love judgment.  They rejoice in judgment.  Judgment is part of our safety and the hedge about us protecting us from the world.

Deuteronomy 32:1-4
1 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:
3 Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.
4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

Psalms 25:8-10
8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

You do not need to get hard and harsh and critical of those who are meek and easily entreated.

Those who are humble and meek are easily guided in judgment.

Psalms 37:29-31
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.

When saints get together and talk, they speak with wisdom and judgment.  They don’t just talk about wisdom and judgment, they speak with wisdom and judgment.

Psalms 101:1-8
1 I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing.
2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

This is done with joy and happiness and peace and mercy, not with condemnation and anger.

Psalms 119:65-68
65 Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according unto thy word.
66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.
68 Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes.

We gladly accept and desire the judgments of God.  Our attitude is: “Teach us Lord.”

Psalms 149: 1-9
1 Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
3 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.
6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;
7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;
8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.

We sing the songs of righteousness.  We sing the songs of God’s holy judgments.

The instructions and judgments of God are a sweet sound.

They bring us into the safety of humble obedience.

Proverbs 21:3
To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

Isaiah 1:25-27
25 And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:
26 And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellers as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.
27 Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.

Righteousness and mercy are always the companions of judgment.

Wrath is not present with judgment unless there is willful rebellion.

John 7:24
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

This is the common snare.  People are tempted to believe what they see without praying and seeking the righteous discernment of the Holy Spirit.  It is unjust to judge things based solely on the appearance of a thing.  You must seek to know the motive of the heart.
A thing or an act may be wrong and the person be pure in heart.

Without knowledge of the law there is no sin.  Where there is no law, there is no sin.

Romans 1:31-32
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Romans 2 :1-6
1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

If you know what truth is, you better get busy doing it.

If you know what sin is, you better refuse to give in to it, even if it brings death to your flesh.

There is no allowance or excuse for willful disobedience.

As saints of God, we will always choose death over sin.

Are you dead to sin and alive in Christ?

Or, are you dead to Christ because you are living in sin?

You can not be a sinner and a saint at the same time.

Are the judgments of God a sweet sound to you?

Are you rejoicing in the judgments of God?

When you find out that something is wrong, do you get sad and pout?

You should be glad and shout because God has been merciful to judge you before that great day when there will be no time for repentance.

Judge yourself this day:

·        whether you love the judgments of God

·        or hate the judgments of God

Listen to the Holy Spirit as He speaks truth to your heart.

An Ornament Of Grace

It is our desire to study the word of God and receive the counsel of the Holy Spirit that we may do all things to please God.  I want to be washed by the word.  I submit to its cleansing and it correction.

Ephesians 5:24-27
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

The grace of God, which is the divine influence of God, is the most desired, the most valuable and the most beautiful thing in my life.

It is a natural thing for people to want to look attractive and feel attractive. Almost every person wants others to see them and like them, accept them, and approve of them.  People want to be important to others.

It is this emotional need that every person has which tempts them to become proud and vain.  Proud and vain people will use external decorations to attract attention and admiration.  They think that they can impress others by their attire and jewelry to think that they are worthy and important.

It is not the decoration of the outward body which makes a person really beautiful.  A person’s character, their attitude, their spirit and their conduct is what makes them beautiful.  A person can have expensive and fashionable clothing with ornaments of gold, diamonds and pearls and yet be so very ugly and unattractive.  Their proud and haughty attitude makes them almost unbearable.  Their attitude of superiority and prejudice mars their image and reputation.

People who are righteous, humble and kind are beautiful people and enjoyable to be with.

Proverbs 1:1-9
1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;
2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
9 For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

Think about that expression:  “an ornament of grace unto thy head.”

Surely God knows what makes a person really beautiful.

The ornament spoken of here is a reference to the woven nature of a wreath.  This wreath is the interwoven principles of your mother and father’s laws which are harmonious with God's laws.

It is the wreath of wisdom, justice, judgment and equity.

It is the wreath of hearing, learning and understanding.

It is a pleasant and beautiful experience to sit and converse with someone who is wise and full of understanding, full of charity and full of kindness.

1 Peter 3:1-9
1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.
3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

This whole passage is talking about what makes the Christian beautiful.  It is the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.  Describe a “meek and quiet spirit.”  Do you fit that description?  Do your children and the guests who enter your home see the beauty of God's grace?

Psalms 29:2
Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

True beauty is the beauty of holiness.   It is righteousness, peace and joy in the favor of God.

Carnal men look upon the beauty of women and their hearts are full of lust. We live in a world were sin and lust have caused men to want to fill their eyes with the beauty of a woman’s body.  This sinful lust will burn you and destroy you.

Proverbs 6:23-29
23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:
24 To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.
25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
26 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.
27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?
28 Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?
29 So he that goeth in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.

One of the peculiar things about sinners is their desire to spoil a righteous person.  Evil men are attracted to a godly woman.  Evil women are attracted to godly men.  Innocence is beautiful and the sinner is challenged to spoil your holy life.  Do not let their flattery entice you to enjoy their attention.  All attention is not admiration.

1 John 2:16
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

What you see with your eyes will often become a temptation to your soul.  Satan will use what you see to tempt you to be covetous, lustful and to commit sin in your heart.

Proverbs 31:30
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

The beauty of the flesh is vanity.  This beauty is not what brings happiness and peace.  To find happiness and peace, you must first find the righteousness, the judgments and the mercy of God.  The place where God dwells is beautiful and His people are beautiful.

God has placed His beauty on the church of God.

Isaiah 40:3-8
3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

All flesh is of this world, temporary and corruptible.  It is just for this time world.  It is going to be food for the worms someday.  Someday you are going to look like a flower after it has been frost bitten.  You are going to be old, wrinkled and worn out.  You are going to perish.  You are going to be just like the grass and the flowers which wilt and fade into death.

Psalms 50:2
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

The church of God is the “perfection of beauty.”

The glory of God is in the righteousness of the saints.

Lamentations 2:15
All that pass by clap their hands at thee; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?

May God help us never to mar the perfection of beauty which is the joy of the whole earth.   It is sad when people of this world walk by the congregations of the church of God and say, “Is that what Christianity looks like?”

Carnal, unsanctified people will act childish and immature.  They will fuss and argue over their disagreements.  They will cut each other off and cause division.

A sanctified church will be the most beautiful thing in the whole earth.  They will act with patience and humility.  They will be known for their perfect love.  And, God’s power will be evident in their life.

Do you possess the ornament of grace?

No person can fully and rightly understand the Holy Bible without the help of the Holy Spirit to give the proper sense and interpretation.  The natural man, with his natural mind, cannot comprehend spiritual subjects.  Sin is called the “mystery of iniquity” because there is no excuse or reason for sin.

The Word of God is a mystery to sinners, who walk in darkness, because they have not the light of God to understand His commandments and instructions.  Sinners are a mystery to us who see the light of truth; and, we are a mystery to them who are spiritually blind.  Therefore, except our merciful and gracious God give the understanding of truth, the mystery prevails.

Revelation  4:8-5:10
8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Chapter 5, verse 1
1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
7 And he [Jesus Christ] came and took the book out of the right hand of him [God the Father] that sat upon the throne.
8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

By this passage of scripture, we understand that the Bible is a sealed book and what is written in it can only be understood when Jesus opens the seals.  However, there are things written on the backside of this sealed book (see verse one).  The things written on the backside are seen and understood by everyone.  At some point in time, every person sees and understands the grace of God that brings salvation.  Paul states this truth in his epistle to Titus in chapter 2 verse 11.

All that a sinner needs to understand is that his sins have separated him from God.  He is lost and is in need of being redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ.  The Holy Spirit will reveal this truth to the sinner.  This understanding is that which is written on the backside of the sealed book.

The Seven Seals of The Revelation of Jesus Christ are un-sealed by Jesus Christ to those who are chosen and called by reason of their obedience and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the only Savior of the souls of all men.

Matthew 13:10-13
10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

Sinners understand very little about salvation and all the benefits, promises and commandments of God.  They know just enough to draw them to Jesus Christ with a desire to know Him more fully.  Humility and repentance are the prerequisites for a sinner to understand the gospel of Jesus Christ.  It is so hard for a sinner to confess his sins, acknowledge his blindness and sincerely cry out to Jesus Christ for deliverance.

Likewise, it is very hard for a religious person who is still in bondage to the desires of the flesh to admit that he does not understand the truth.  It is often necessary to convince a religious person that they are not saved before you can help them see that they need to repent, turn from all their sins and be saved.  People who still have the carnal nature producing a stubborn self-will and a refusal to consider the truth will undoubtedly resist the truth.  They will not hear and they will not understand.

Mark 4:11-13
11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

If a person is selfish and living according to the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of live, that person will not see or understand the benefits of salvation and the valuable promises of God.

2 Corinthians 4:1-5
1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

Have you renounced the mystery of iniquity, the hidden things of dishonesty?   If you have not, then you will not understand the Gospel.

This gospel is hid to them that are lost; especially to them who refuse to listen to the truth and have no desire to change their ways to conform to the plain teachings of the Word of God

This is a true statement:  The god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not.

Who are those who do not believe?

They are the ones who do not believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

They are those who have not repented of all their sin.

They are those who do not believe that we can live holy and be holy.

They are those who teach that all men are sinners.

They are those in whom God’s love does not control all their actions.

If I send you a letter via the United States Postal Service, you cannot read the letter until you unseal and open the letter.  The Bible is the Word of God.  God gave His Word to Jesus Christ.  No one can read and understand this letter except the unsealing and the understanding come from Jesus Christ or His messenger.

Revelation 1:1-3
1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

You are a blest person if you can hear, read and understand the Word of God which God has given to Jesus and which Jesus has given to His messengers.

If you want to have fellowship with Jesus Christ and His people, you must walk in the light of truth when it is given to you.  If you refuse to walk in the light of truth, your light will become darkness.

The Word of God teaches us that there will be false prophets in the world who are very crafty and deceitful.  Many of these false prophets claim to be called and anointed of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit to preach the gospel.  Their message and their fruit prove to us that they do not know the truth and they do not have the approval of God upon their ministry.  Every child of God must be a workman that needs not to be ashamed of their knowledge and understanding of the word of God.  You must seek the Lord with all your heart, mind, soul and strength so that God sees your faithful obedience and protects you from deception.

Titus 1:10-16
10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Paul wans Titus of those people who claim to be Christian and yet they are unruly, prejudiced against other nationalities of people and deceitful.  They preach and teach for the money they receive from the people.  They seek the praise of men more than the praise of God.  These false prophets will teach the commandments of men instead of the commandments of God.

Matthew 7:15-21
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

False prophets are hypocrites, false shepherds.  They put on a cloak of holiness, but in their hearts they are destroyers.  They will put their opinions and their desires ahead of the safety and good of the congregation and the individual child of God.  They may be well educated, good speakers and have the appearance of humility.  But you must judge them by their fruit.  Do they live holy?  Do they teach that all God’s children must live holy and be holy?  Are people hearing the truth and coming to the truth?

Matthew 24:11-14
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Many false prophets shall deceive many souls.  Who are these false prophets and who are the ones that are deceived?  You need the Holy Spirit to enable you to discern between the good and the bad, between the truth and false doctrine.

Has every nation in the world heard the preaching of the gospel of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ?  NO!  The end will not come until this prophecy is fulfilled.

Matthew 24:24
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

This is serious business.  Satan is endeavoring to deceive every person whom he can persuade to listen to his lies.  Saved people must be careful, prayerful and good students of the Bible.

2 Corinthians 11:13-15
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Satan himself will come and speak to your mind and tell you that he is an angel of the Lord.  He may even try to convince you that he is the Holy Spirit; or, that his thoughts are your thoughts.  He is the father of every lie.  Everything that he does is designed to destroy the blessings of God out of your life.

1 John 4:1-8
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

The Apostle John is warning you and telling you to try the spirit of every person who tells you that he is a child of God.  If a person cannot manifest the Love of God, how then can he be saved and have the love of God in his heart?

Can a person be saved and not have enough of the love of God in his heart to carry a burden for the salvation of the soul of another person?  Would a true Christian rather see someone cut off from the fellowship of the congregation than to see them receive help and be saved?  The answer must be NO.

Revelation 16:12-16
12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

Have you ever met someone with a “frog-like” spirit?  They will not answer your questions with a straight answer.  They will hop from one subject to another without any good explanation.  They do not like the light of holy scriptures, but prefer the darkness of their own beliefs.

Who are these that are naked and others see their shame?  They are the ones who have known the truth and then left the truth to serve their own desires.  They are the ones in the sleepy, lukewarm, Seventh Seal age who are mentioned in the Revelation:

Revelation 3:13-22
13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

People are “wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:” when they do not have on their garment of righteousness.  Many people are blind to their condition because they have been taught false doctrine by false preachers and teachers.  Will they be excused because they believed a false prophet?  The answer is No.  Let us see what does the Bible teach us?

Ezekiel 3:18-20
18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

The false prophet and the person who does not wholeheartedly seek the truth will both fall into the ditch of sin.  Those who follow a false prophet will not be able to excuse themselves, because the Holy Spirit is faithful to warn you of the error of their false doctrine.

Matthew 15:13-14
13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

If you fall into the ditch of sin, you are not on the highway of holiness.  It is your responsibility to prove all things and know the truthfulness of what you believe about yourself and about God.

In closing this lesson, let me ask you a couple of questions for your serious consideration.

Is there ample proof of all the fruit of the Spirit and the works of faith at the spiritual table where you are getting your soul food?

The church is the Bride of Christ and He is the Bridegroom.  Where the bride spends enough time with the bridegroom, children will be born into that union.  A false prophet and a lukewarm congregation will be barren of spiritual, healthy children.  All their children will be still-born, dead on arrival.

Spiritually speaking, have you spent enough time with Jesus to be expecting and travailing to give birth to a new born child of God?

A false prophet will teach the people a false Christ and out of that union there will be no children of righteousness.   Those few people who have gotten saved from all their sins sitting under a false prophet, have done so by the mercy of God, without the spiritual help of the pastor.

The Bible still contains a “come out of her my people” message.

Revelation 18:1-5
1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

Have you come out of Babylon, false religion, where the Dragon (which is Paganism), the Beast (which is Catholicism) and the False Prophet (which is Protestantism) teach people error and false doctrine?   These are the three unclean spirits like frogs which are trying to deceive every person.

We invite you and plead with you to take your stand for holiness and be one of those who have “come out.”
