A BETTER COVENANT

A BETTER COVENANT
A more excellent way
A new and living way

If we are to know the truth and learn the truth, we must accept the Witnesses of God as the supreme authority for all the things we believe and hold to be true. The Two Witnesses are the Word and the Holy Spirit. It is by these Two Witnesses that we judge and measure all things, including the “temple of God” and the “altar” and “them that worship therein.” Let us establish and accept the only authority given to us to know and judge all things.

Revelation 11:1-6
1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

WATERS is a symbol of people and nations.
Revelation 17:15
And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

Romans 3:4
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar;

Can you humble yourself to submit to the measuring rod of the gospel of Jesus Christ; His doctrine and the teachings of the Word and the Spirit? If the Word and the Spirit would teach you a more excellent way, a new and living way, which is clearly set forth in the Holy Bible, will you be willing to change what you believe? If you can show me in the Bible where I am mistaken on what the Bible teaches; then, I will change what I believe. Will you?

The message the Lord has given to me to share is one which Satan has worked hard to prevent people from hearing. Satan hates the gospel of Jesus Christ and the deliverance from sin which full salvation brings to the obedient soul. If people do not hear, believe and accept this message, then they will not have the grace and power of God working in their daily life. The reason we have so many congregations and ministers living without the power of God in their life is because they have not experienced the full plan of salvation which Jesus Christ purchased with His own blood on the cross of Calvary.

I am not willing to settle for “half of the gospel” which Jesus shed His precious blood to purchase for me and the whole world. I am not willing to settle for “one third of the gospel” which Jesus shed His precious blood to purchase for me and the whole world.

Let us consider that Moses and Elijah went to heaven. What could be better than being accepted of God and going to heaven when you die? Many prophets and men of God are listed by name in the faith chapter, Hebrews chapter 11. These all died in the faith and went to heaven. What could be better than being accepted of God and going to heaven when you die? Why did Jesus come and give His life for our salvation since salvation was already an obtainable reality? What fault, what deficiency existed in the Law of Moses and the sacrifices for sin which the obedient children of God offered in the Old Testament?

1 Corinthians 12:31
But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

What is this “more excellent way” which the apostle Paul writes about?
It is the same excellent way which John the Baptist spoke of in:

Matthew 3:10-12
10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

We must pay close attention to what the Word of God teaches us. Words have specific meaning and we must understand the message and doctrine of Christ.

John the Baptist said that the Messiah was near at hand and that He would baptize the believers with the Holy Ghost and fire. The blood of Jesus Christ is the blood sacrifice for our sins. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all of our sins when we repent and turn from all of our sins. When the blood of Jesus Christ is applied it always signifies that a cleansing/purging work is being done. There are two occasions and two applications of the blood of the sin offering for the sins and errors of the people. We read about this in the book of Hebrews when Paul was writing to the Hebrew people of Israel explaining the fulfillment of the Old Testament covenant.

Hebrews 9:6-9
6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;

When Jesus paid for our salvation with His own blood and sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in our hearts, the way into the holiest was made manifest for all the children of God. Because by His blood we have been made kings and priests to rule and reign over our flesh in this present world.

John 14:17
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

When Jesus was present in the flesh, He gave them power over all spirits and diseases. However, it is evident from the many instances given in the four gospels, that, although the disciples were saved out of the world, they were still carnal and self-serving. After the day of Pentecost, we find a different condition with the disciples. They had power to be witnesses to the whole world and stand faithful without giving in to the desires of the flesh.

Acts 8:12-17
12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had  received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Ministers of God do not baptize people just because they come and attend our worship services. We baptize people whom we believe have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Philip did not knowingly baptize sinners. These people in Samaria had “received” the gospel of Jesus. They had become disciples and followers of “the way” which Philip preached. They were baptized with water and then later they were baptized with fire, just like John the Baptist prophesied.

Hebrews 8:6-10
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

How does God write His laws into our minds and hearts? By the gift of the Holy Spirit, we receive a teacher who dwells within our heart and mind to teach and guide us into all truth. The Holy Spirit is an infallible guide and He will bring us into perfection if we will listen and obey His faithful counsel.

John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name,  he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Without the Holy Spirit, the children of God are limited in their understanding of the plan of salvation. Without the Holy Spirit, the sinner is in darkness and can not understand the perfect plan of salvation. The Holy Spirit is with the justified child of God and He is in the sanctified child of God. Remember what the apostle John said:
 John 14:17 “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”

This promise of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, this Baptism of Fire, was prophesied from Adam and Abel and Abraham to John and Jesus. It was fulfilled with the ministry of Jesus Christ and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost.

Luke 1:70-79
70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;
73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,
74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,
79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Without the baptism of the Holy Spirit and that fire which purges and burns up the carnal nature, no man can consistently and continually live all the days of his life in holiness and righteousness. The carnal (un-sanctified) man tends to cause strife, confusion and division, and will not know the way of peace in all circumstances.

Hebrews 10:16-22
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Have you entered into the “holiest”? The holiest was the second room in the tabernacle and was also called the Holy of Holies. These two rooms were preceded by two altars upon which were offered two applications of the blood of the sin offering. One offering was on the brazen altar for the sins of the people. The second offering was on the golden altar for the errors of the people. These two cleansing works of grace were purchased by the blood of Jesus. This is our completeness in the plan of salvation through Jesus Christ. If you do not have both cleansings which were both purchased by the blood, then you do not have the complete plan of salvation working in your life. No man designed this plan of salvation; and no man has the authority to change or modify it. If man changes this plan of salvation, it will be unacceptable with God.

Hebrews 10:29
Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

This is the better covenant, the new and living way which Jesus Christ has purchased with His blood. We have the privilege of being part of a better ministry. To reject the second cleansing is to do despite to the Holy Spirit who gives you grace. Grace is the power and influence of God in a sanctified life. Power with God comes when the Holy Spirit comes into the heart of the consecrated and obedient child of God.

Hebrews 12:23-24
23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

What is this “blood of sprinkling”? Let the apostle Peter explain it more fully.

1 Peter 1:2
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

Have you been sanctified?
Has the fire of the Holy Ghost baptism, purged your heart from the corrupt nature which you inherited from your forefathers all the way back to Adam?
Do we need to speak to you about the two Adam's; the one who brought us into bondage by disobedience and the second who delivered us from all the power of sin?

Satan hates this message of being sanctified through the two cleansing works of the plan of salvation. This is God's plan. It is not by my design. Neither is it offered as an option or an alternative way to serve God. It is the only way to bring the glory of God back into the camp of the saints!
